Hi, New to the forum & have read all the posts on The Builders Depot prior to putting in an order. To cut though the prior stuff IâÂÂve read: First, this is not a fake post - I am a real U.S. born Citizen. English is my first language. I am remodeling the baths and kitchen in my New England Farmhouse . I am not in the building trade (though I was 20 years ago), I don't sell tile, I'm not friends with or related to people who sell tile nor am I paid to endorse and kind brand or company related to tile. I want to add that I have been an artisan/craftsman/artist/designer (with two professional degrees) for over 40 years & can trust my eye. I was going to wait to publish a pic of the installation, but after reading the various threads, I had to add my experience to date⦠I took a month to investigate buying marble tile on-line, which seemed like it could be to be a treacherous affair. My (the best IMHO) installer strongly recommended using real Italian marble. I first visited several tile shops recommended by my installer but $14-$22 sf for 3x6 was too much As a result I went on-line searching for Carrara Bianco, the marble I liked best of all that I saw. During the process I narrowed the search to three suppliers. More then once I talked to directly to David at The Builders Depot. I ordered samples from everyone & then showed them to my installer. He immediately gravitated to the samples from the Builders Depot (my choice, too). The ordering process and delivery to a nearby UPS depot was quick ands seamless. There are some pics in this thread (and many others in other threads) of Carrara Bianco & that is what I received, too �" just like the samples. As one example of quality, when I compared moldings the chair & base moldings, the samples from The Builders Depot stood out as better designed and cut. Okay, this may be subjective, but several others in thre trades have backed me up on this. Overall, IâÂÂm very pleased to date and would say my expectations have been positively met. All this being said, I would expect (and hope) that anyone buying on-line would do their own investigation & hopefully come to the same conclusion. I would say that the positive remarks on the various threads, even if some come from the same, person merits a serious look by any potential buyer. IâÂÂll try and post pics when IâÂÂm done.

I know this thread is really old, but can anyone comment on Franklin Furniture? Made in Houston, MS. We just purchased a sectional sofa from them with power recliners, lights, and massage/vibrating chairs. It will be delivered in 9 days and we have 30 days to return it for a refund. I'm usually a big researcher and am kind of freaking out now because I didn't do my homework and know nothing about Franklin. The salesman assured us it was a good quality, in line with Lazy Boy - but really, what is he going to say? This stuff is junk?? Can anyone put my mind at ease?

I am so pleased to hear that it goes well in my room, as I am always so unsure of myself when it comes to making things come together. Stinkygardener, the chair that was labelled a Chippendale-style was a similar one I found online. It was the only one I could find that had the channel back to compare with. Greywings, the wall colour is actually a dark brown, not a sage green. It is a BM paint, called "Driftwood". I do have a couple of paintings in the room with blue in them. That one you pointed out, which is a still life with tangeloes in a white porcelain basket. The one next to it actually has blue stripe background and some blue pottery. And a painting on an opposite wall has flowers in a dark blue pot. I will try to bring more blues into the room as yes, they are complimentary with the oranges/browns/terracotta colours in here. I had been thinking an aqua might go in here, but never even considered a rich dark blue! Yes, Parma, the chair sure did get swallowed up where I first tried it! I had it angled on the other side of the little table from my DHs' large leather recliner, and it looked rediculous there. Like a toy beside that big chair! Valinsv, the person I bought this chair from said it had been in her family for many years, but because her house is small and she just had a second child, she was having to find more room in her house and she sadly had to give up the chair. She did say that her father had it reupholstered, and that he remembered it being in his grandparents' home when he was a boy. The fabric on the bottom has been replaced, so there is no tags there.

There are multiple stores where I live (large metropolitan suburbs) where you can have a custom sectional made, for about what you'd pay at Room & Board. I got to choose the fabric, the welting, the exact size, the depth, the arm width and shape, the firmness of the cushion, poly wrap v. down wrap, the shape of the feet, the finish on the feet, and more. We got a 3-sided sectional (44" deep), approximately 148" , 168" on the back, and the 3rd side is a long chase with a huge ottoman. Yes, it's huge. As I recall, it was less than $5,000. Of course people sit on all 3 sides and talk. We also have other families over to watch the Superbowl, and things like that, and everyone loves the huge, deep sectional. We have a large family, and the kids have friends over, and that's our lifestyle. So while I understand the sofa + 2 chairs for flexible design, that really wouldn't work in our situation, and I bet there's lots others who are in our same situation. I think it's a personal decision, but it's a good idea to hear all these different points of view.
