Need advice for bath final touches
Comments (21)I really think you can't go wrong; the rest of the bath is pretty neutral. I'd personally prefer metal or white, just because they won't be as noticeable and I think of those accessories as utilitarian rather than decorative. I'd rather bring color in with art than with a tissue holder. So, I think you're going to have to go with what you prefer. Seems like any of the colors would work. Do you have any similar sized items in black, brown, or wood that you could just place in the bath to give yourself a visual of how you like them? My sense is that your eyes would be drawn to the stronger colors because the rest is neutral, but that would be fine, if YOU like it....See MoreNeed help with final touches on exterior!
Comments (3)I agree with Mr. Mark, because colors are sensitive to light and surrounding colors, you really would benefit from in-person consultations. That said.... Gutters will probably be dark brown to match roof a close as possible, but completely unsure of what to do with the downspouts! Downspouts should (generally) match the body of the house. :-) If the stucco is slightly off-white, will bright white trim and doors look alright? I wouldn't. Off-white tends to look tired/aged, if not outright dingy/dirty, next to bright white....See MoreHelp please w/ final touches to temp room makeover
Comments (1)I moved the navy blue dresser to the wall next to it and I am hanging the big gold picture aligned with the chandelier and table on the wall the navy blue dresser used to be on...see pics as after and before.......See MoreFinal touches on Bedroom... Please help
Comments (24)Another idea: what about replacing one of the nightstands for a narrower one to allow the bed to be scooted over to clear the window? Would that leave enough room to walk on that side? If your bed is the standard 76 inches for a King, that leaves you 68 inches on that wall. Right now, you have 34 inches on each side? I don't know how many inches the bed overlaps the window but if it can be centered on the wall (forgetting the window is part of the wall), then art above it would make more "sense". That said, the headboard doesn't leave much room for art above it. I do think the blue needs to be repeated in the room for balance and lamps would be a good spot for it. Love the last lamp italmover shared. Perhaps pillows could introduce a soft colour and texture to complement the blue and white? You can also play with a range of blues. Decorative pillows are very much trial and error but it can be a lot of fun to search for that special touch. I love pinks and purples with blues so would be tempted to introduce a soft purple to the mix: Ochre is a popular colour right now and some love it with blues. Blues and greens are classic. A fabric print that includes your duvet's blue would be "ideal" but it's not always easy to find an exact blue match. Etsy has loads of options though so you're bound to find something you love. The new wall colour looks lovely in the natural light pics. Serene and brighter than the previous. Agree about the yellow from current bulbs (could also be camera's doing. Might be less yellow irl?)...See MoreSusie .
