Question about chandelier size for a formal foyer
Comments (5)60' diameter and 48 - 60' height would be appropriate. Now height off the floor, landing or 2nd story...that's where foyers become challenging. I've tried to scale it below. http://www.rejuvenation.com/engine/index.html?limits%5B25OALENGTH%5D=400%7C37&newC500%5B25OALENGTH%5D=90&custom_code=gtfk&basepart=C500...See MoreWhat size rug for my foyer?
Comments (8)Definately the larger rug, to unify the three doorways and create flow into the space. As for color, I would think some type of oriental-style rug would work well with the more formal feel of your space, and you should be able to find something with all your colors in it. Don't know if you would consider a round rug there, which might be a nice compliment to the curved glass in your entry doors....See MoreWhat size chandelier for foyer? Please help, must decide!
Comments (8)Your foyer sounds exactly like mine, actually, yours might be a touch larger. I currently have a huge fixture in that space. I believe the original owners chose it to fill the large window, and fill it does! We call it the big brass spider. I'm struggling with getting rid of it because its a gorgeus real brass fixture (and priced at $3k new on Progress Lighting website), but I feel its far too large. It has 3 tiers, 21 lights total and trips the breaker if I have it on and try to vacuum the hall. Now, my fixture is 48 inches wide, and it is far too large. But I think 36 would work for me, and I think from what your describing, my foyer is slightly smaller than yours. Here is a link that might be useful: The big Brass Spider...See MoreFoyer Chandelier Size
Comments (4)The other thing to consider when choosing a size is the height that it will be hung at. Is there an exterior window that you want it to be centered in? Is there a stair in this space, or an overlook? If we were talking traditional candelabra chandeliers, I would start with the three tier version in most lines. For other styles I would look at fixtures with similar dimensions to these....See MoreGalilee Lighting
