Do you think these light fixtures work together?
Comments (19)Our entryway is almost a joke - see what I mean? (the picture is taken from the living room, looking at th front door). I don't have a picture of the dining room, but here's the layout of that part of the house, so you can kind've get the idea of the relation between the entry and the dining room. (Ignore the kitchen/ breakfast area - this isn't a good drawing. The big red rectangle is a see-through fireplace between the living room and office.) I decided to go ahead and order the foyer fixture. As Amy said, I think they both have the shiny/silver+lucite look to them. In case you can't tell, the chandelier has lucite (or some sort of clear material) in the center and under each of the shades. The lucite makes the chandelier a little less traditional, in my opinion. I'll post pics when I get the new fixture up - thanks for the opinions!...See MorePlease let me know if these lighting fixtures work together? (par
Comments (16)@sparkler: Thanks, you make a good point! So far the ceiling fixtures, pendants over sink and the sconces are all from the same line of lights so hopefully that translates into the same shade of white. One poster suggested changing the sconces to a different line for variety. If we do that we will avoid doing a sconce with a white shade to avoid the different white problem. We were planning to order them from LightingDirect.com, but if we don't like them together we can return them I assume. @ romy718 Thanks, that is a very good idea to work though. I do like those lights I posted for in front of the window and it does come in a bigger size. That sphere shape one is 3 times the price as the drum shaped one I posted in my opening post. The sphere shaped one is 14.5 inches and the drum shaped one is 19 inches in diameter. The sphere shaped one has one 150 watt bulb and the drum shaped one holds 3- 60 (180 total) watt bulbs. All, What is the best way to float in the pictures of these light fixtures into a picture of my kitchen? DH has done a Sketch-up picture of the kitchen. If we could figure out how to cut and paste pictures of the lights into this Sketch-up photo we would have a better idea of what the visual clutter would look like and if the 3D shapes looked good together. I would like to keep the two ceiling lights and sconces as they are the only source of ambient or up lighting. The rest of the lights (pots and pendants) are all down lights. As per the dining room chandy, I am thinking we will start off using our old dining room chandy and change it out later when we have extra funds. Below you will see a picture of our dining room before the house rebuild. New DR will be much more spacious. You can see the old DR chandy I was hoping to reuse for now. Is it a disaster to re-use with the other light fixtures I have chosen for the kitchen that is nearby? Comments (13)Looking at them again, though I think either pendant option will work with the table light, I think I like the lantern better. Since the table light is fabric, if you do the pendants in the pleated fabric with the nickel it will be introducing a different type of fabric. The lanterns have a classic shape and style and will work with your other choices easily. I love lanterns. I used two large square ones in our foyer. And if you notice, the sconce, the table light and the lantern all have the small ball detail on them which brings in a cohesive look. It's a very small detail that probably no one will notice but will bring the three together effortlessly. I did something similarly with some Hudson Valley lights in my bathroom. I had some lights going on the same wall that needed to flow. I used two double vanity lights and a center longer vertical fixture between the sink areas. Completely different lights that came from two different light collections but the same finish and the small details make them work together beautifully and look like they were meant to be together....See MoreDo these two light styles work together?
Comments (43)I love Arhaus and would shop with them, but they don’t do in store pick up and the shipping to my area is just not worth it. Got ready to purchase a bed and the cost to get it to me was $300. I’m going to need 3 stools and most everything comes in pairs or outside that practical cost zone for me. May end up with an additional stool. I’m telling you it is a real struggle to get anything besides the same ole boring and tradition decor and furnishings in that area. I agree with you about the chairs, but they are really good quality and finding something to replace them around here or without paying shipping cost is my same old song and dance. Fabric and an upholster I can get. Plus if I don’t use the stuff, there’s that “What am I going to do with it”? Nobody will pay me anything for it, and I already have a storage building with stuffed full, so I might as well use it. I’m getting to old for this, but I will get it done sooner or most likely later. I’ll send you a photo when it’s hung. And that will take weeks. Have a good evening. Thanks!...See MoreGargamel
