Wednesday, What's for Dinner?
Comments (11)jasdip, I had planned ahead for cooking on a rainy day and the forecast was right. Good to see you too! :) mamatoad, 105 and hot beef too? yikes! it got to 58 here today. :p kathsgrdn, sorry you're sick! but your turkey club reminds me of a great restaurant near my house when I was younger -- their turkey clubs were on their homemade bread with real sliced turkey breast and they were fantastic! rhizo, I've never been a fan of salmon, but my Dad made a cabbage and salmon salad that was really good! georgysmom, YUM on the rouladen!!! Here it's not a question of being on sale, but rather whether you can find the bracciole to begin with! I've never made spaetzle, however. Do you have a favorite recipe? raven, spaghetti is one of my favorite quick/easy meals! ellendi6161, sounds good. I love broccoli... another quick/easy favorite of mine is broccoli & garlic w/ pasta. :) BTW: my bean soup was excellent!!!!!!!!!! :)...See Morekids lunchbox mac and cheese

Comments (0)So, I'm a bit obsessive when it comes to finding the perfect recipe. I made a really good mac & cheese about 5 years ago but then when, a few years later, I tried to remember what it was, I could remember and so ended up concluding it was probably Martha's Mac & Cheese. But, today I happened upon Saveur's Artisanal Mac & Cheese and now I'm thinking it might have been that one. They both look really good and instead of me making both and deciding which is the better, anyone out there made both and have an opinion? AND, further, I've read lots of stuff that says that the key to great mac & cheese is dried mustard but neither of these have this. Cook's Illustrated uses that — anyone made all three? thanks!...See MoreBreakfast Mac and cheese with sausage and hash browns
Comments (14)I also think it would freeze well, all that fat from the cheese, sausage and the dairy helps. I'd probably add the hash browns after the dish thawed and just before baking, but that's just me, I'd want them crunchy and not at all mushy, which would be my fear if they are on top of that casserole . So, if you don't want to do that, I'd assemble and freeze, then thaw in the refrigerator and cook. You'll have to add cooking time because your dish will be cold, not still warm from being freshly made and assembled. Just be sure it's hot in the middle before the broil step and you should be fine.
