Is wood look tile from Home Deport decent quality?
Comments (4)This tile has become increasingly popular in recent years, and, as such, prices have dropped dramatically. What used to be ten bucks a foot is now under three. If you like it, the best thing to do is to put two tiles face to face and see if you can "spin" them. In other words, cupping is the biggest issue. You can also "sight down" a few and see if they are bowed. If so.....PASS! They require a good tile technician to properly lay them and they are, typically set with a 1/3 or random offset...to minimize lippage. Also, you really need a FLAT floor and a medium bed thinset for a good installation....See MorePlease Help... Wood & Laminate Sample Pics in my Home Office
Comments (26)OK, I renamed the best pics of each of the three wood species I chose and took pics by my file cabinet by the window, by my credenza that is in back of my desk and by the front of my desk which is by the front windows. I also took pics of the room that is a little messy right now since I am working on a major project and do not have time to clean if I am working as well as obsessing about which wood floor for my office. I was going to wait until the end of the year to change the carpet but then when my air conditoner/heating/compressor unit died on me and caused a flood in the foyer area between the two rooms that are part of that big room, I had to decide what to replace the engineered warped and darkened oak wood with. Pieces of the veneer have come up and it is bumpy and was smelling a muscky smell until I had carpet cleaners deodorize it and steam it lightly to get rid of the musky smell. I either have to replace it with wood or maybe I should put tile there and wood floors in the rest of the office? The 80 pics are now about 23 or 24 pics labeled. Tomorrow I will reduce the number of pics and insert them into my picture program to share with you. I may start a new thread....See Morelooking for whole house color palette
Comments (3)People here will have wonderful suggestions, but always, always get samples you can see with your own eyes, as screen monitors will be inaccurate. And look at those samples together -- so you can determine what really fits with something else, even if you have to pay for several pieces of tile or countertop. Here's my poster child example of that: I ordered this countertop sample because I wanted some green -- it was a little too busy, but I figured if it turned out right, I could make it work: countertop sample It arrived. The greens were pea green, and the browns were sweet potato orange. It looked like someone had just eaten a meal of both items, and promptly regurgitated. Not a meme I wanted in my kitchen, thank you! At any rate, both Sherwin Williams and Behr have color palates you can pick up at Lowe's or Home Depot, respectively, aimed for different styles of need. I've done that for my interior paint, as additional help....See MoreWhich flooring looks better? Whole house flooring remodel
Comments (18)Robin, I haven’t installed it yet. It’s on backorder until April, we will be installing in May. I have been living with the full size plank samples I ordered in my kitchen for a couple months now and they are wonderful. No scratches, cleans super easy, no stains or fading, no dents although I haven’t really dropped anything large on them yet....See MoreHU-161159613
