looking for whole house color palette

I am in so over my head! We are a new build and it is time for paint. I have a leathered granite and browns throughout in the way of cabinets and flooring. I like KM medium beiges but worried too dark (I have a large kitchen/family room area). My windows are the beige color so thinking of trim that is not stark white but maybe in between white and the window color. I need a neutral whole house interior, dining room, office, powder rooms, laundry, master, and game room colors. I know this is limited info but any help is soooooo appreciated.

I see you posted a couple of pics of your counters and floor choices in different threads. Maybe also post them here so people will know what you've already selected. I'm not a paint color person, but there are some great paint eyes and minds here, so I'm sure you'll get some good suggestions.

People here will have wonderful suggestions, but always, always get samples you can see with your own eyes, as screen monitors will be inaccurate. And look at those samples together -- so you can determine what really fits with something else, even if you have to pay for several pieces of tile or countertop.

Here's my poster child example of that:

I ordered this countertop sample because I wanted some green -- it was a little too busy, but I figured if it turned out right, I could make it work: countertop sample

It arrived. The greens were pea green, and the browns were sweet potato orange. It looked like someone had just eaten a meal of both items, and promptly regurgitated. Not a meme I wanted in my kitchen, thank you!

At any rate, both Sherwin Williams and Behr have color palates you can pick up at Lowe's or Home Depot, respectively, aimed for different styles of need. I've done that for my interior paint, as additional help.

I suggest you hire an interior designer or color consultant. They are not that expensive and will help you accomplish a color scheme that you'll enjoy.

I would use Teresas green in all the psaces in the main living space then add something different in bedrooms where the color should go with the bedding. But I would also need to see your furniture , your lighting will need to be good LEDs in 4000K range to keep colors true. Wall colr is not decided by just liking a color it needs to work with all the elements in a space since all your rooms are in sight of eachother I would keep it simple if after you live in it for a while you decide to change the DR then do that. I like the Blue gray too BTW but it is up to you to see how color works with your stuf. BTW I would always choose F%B if I could but your painter will need to know how to apply it so make sure they have tha knowledge.

eld has a good question - where are you located, what type of setting are you in, what's the style of your house, do you like calm colours or vibrant ones, what type of artwork do you have/will you keep. what colours are in your furniture now, what type of flooring will you be using (hardwood vs carpeting/area rugs) We did this same thing a few years ago but I hired someone to help me through the whole process of the renovation so that I didn't screw up the colour coordination of tiles and cabinet colours and wall colours and flooring etc. I have a post and beam house on the west coast situated on the edge of a forest that goes on forever. Those characteristics, and our furniture, drove the entire renovation project including wall colours. And although it is no longer in style. I even have a feature wall of colour in the dining room which was driven by a piece of art.

Have you done any research on Shaker villages, especially with websites that show their buildings? We have actually stayed at Pleasant Hill, Kentucky in the old buildings. I haven’t been there in several years so I cannot remember any specific building painted yellow. I would contact them and any other Shaker museums and talk to the conservator, the grounds manager, the project manager or whatever they call their experts. I have always had good luck with Benjamin Moore paint historic colors and Williamsburg colors. You are looking for a yellow with brown in it, I imagine. Here in the States, I have all my old Early American Life magazines and a stash of the now discontinued Colonial Homes magazines. I often page through them for a color or an arrangement or an idea. I know people don’t use libraries any more, but they used to have shelves of books on historic houses. I love the idea of the Shaker yellow. I’ll be smiling all day!

I would take a good look at Ben Moore's Affinity line...all the colors there are designed to work together so if you stick with them, not only will your house have a lovely palette, they will all play together nicely no matter which way you choose to spin the colors in which rooms.
