Need Help with Master Bedroom Bathroom/Bedroom Layout - 1970s house
Comments (5)I like my first idea best as far as use of space. I know people say not to put toilets on an outside wall. We had one in our last house in Iowa, but we had 2X6 construction. I don't know how high your window is, but I'm guessing the toilet would fit under there. The shower would be 5 feet long or shorter if you want a wider space to get to the toilet. (kind of tight the way I have drawn). You could do a 5 and half foot long shower and do an angled door at the left end to allow room between the shower and toilet. The vanity would be about 7 feet long, unless you do a 60 inch vanity with a linen cabinet at the door. I would reverse entry door swing if you do that.. The second top right could work and you would still have a small closet. The bottom left plan would require waterproofing your front window. Hopefully someone will give you other ideas. The bottom right plan is bigger, but no closet. Each square equals 1 foot....See MoreNeed help with master bathroom layout, hard to put shower & storage
Comments (17)Thanks everyone for the suggestions! There are good points in all the options. I think it over and over, even though I like the previous option #1 a lot, I realized the TV wall is a concrete wall, so cannot move the door open that way. I try to be more realist, like you said budget-wise and if I sell this unit in the future, they are likely don't need a hug amount of closet space. So I think I will make the shower room bigger and make lots of movable wardrobe units. I'm not sure what would be the best way to fit the pink wardrobe unit in the image below, I don't want the room to feel smell or separated: Option A - I feel the bed is close to the pink wardrobe might make it feel close to the wall, but the good thing is the room doesn't feel separated. Option B - The bed doesn't feel very close to the wall but the room feels separated with the pink wardrobe and created hallway which I feel it waste the space. Any other potential options? I like @damiarain 's idea of making it a big single sink and some draws on the side - I want to have a one piece vanity top with sink (not undercount), seems hard to find people to make it. @Flo Mangan I was looking for those closet lift, they all seem to be manual (could be quite heavy) on the market, do you know if there is an automate one?...See MoreNeed help on visualizing this layout
Comments (0)Hello, I have a post in the bathroom forum asking for help on my upcoming bathroom remodel and when I try to attach tags to be posted under this forum as well, I couldn't find it so I am starting a different post. I got some great suggestion on the layout but I am having a hard time visualizing it in my head. I saw in another post that @ Debbi Washburn was able to help and mock up the layout in 3D to help visualize the plan. Can @ Debbi Washburn or someone help to mock up @ Karenseb 's suggestion and my last layout in 3D? The free standing tub I like is 65"x32" oval shape. Thank you so much! Comments (9)This is a good step towards better. - I like that you have the option of going into the closet from the bathroom, but you can also enter without walking the length of the bathroom. - Like two other posters, though, I'd get the toilet out of the closet. This one even has a clip out of the corner, so it'll be worse than average. Just set it off with a pony wall. - The wet room concept for the shower /tub will work, but I wonder if a bit more space wouldn't be good. How will the window be waterproofed?...See Morerainyseason
