Terry Crews hosted tonight. I don't know if that is just for this series, or if he will also do the regular AGT. He did a good job, I thought.

I am not sure what it was called. Not spoiling anything, but I was not that happy with the results.

I would have liked to have watched it, but had to go pick up a big load of donated pet food. Then had to unload and put it away. It put me very late for feeding the horses, and by the time I got inside, it was over.

When I spent a few years in Alberta (over 30 years ago), "AGT" meant "Alberta Government Telephones".

Now "AGT" is the stock market symbol of the AGT company, that deals mainly in lentils and pulses, many shipped to India, who have restricted.import levels recently to raise prices and encourage more local production.

We had Canada’s Got Talent for one year a few years ago. It was a failure. AGT airs on our Canadian channels here. OJ, I remember when TELUS was referred by AGT.

Watched parts. Susan Boyle still has that wonderful voice...but almost painful how

shy she still is.

It was on 1/2 an hour before I have to go to bed, so I'm not reading the responses here. I recorded it and will watch later. :)

They were ALL good acts. I was wondering how they'd narrow it down to 3...but they did. I also like the back stories. The no skills guy from Russia. I love a success story! Rags to riches. Heidi REALLY liked him. (she's engaged IRL)

I saw the last hour of the show last night and really enjoyed it. I wish they had put more than three acts through to the finals; there are so many I'd like to see again.

It was good to see Susan Boyle; she is looking just gorgeous. I love how she's wearing her hair. One thing I wish she'd done differently is sing a new song (something we haven't heard from her before). She always seems to play it kind of safe by singing one that she's done before. I remember she did that on the final the year she competed by singing the same song from Les Miserables that she sang at her initial appearance on AGT. I've always wondered if she might have won if she'd have sung something new.

Susan Boyle has a beautiful voice! I didn't realize how shy she is, I wondered about her almost total lack of reaction to the Golden Buzzer, and also at the end, when they were congratulating the winners. The recent thread we had here on makeovers came to mind when they showed a clip of her first appearance on whichever 'Got Talent' it was. She was laughed at when she first walked out on stage, that had to have been very painful for her! She looks like a totally different person now!

Did anyone notice the shot of the "Trailer Nasty" comedienne when Preacher Lawson was announced as one of the finalists? Talk about 'if looks could kill'! Definitely a sore loser. But I liked the 'back stories', too. It's good to know how being on AGT helped their careers, even though they didn't win the grand prize.

I was happy with the outcome last night. All the acts were very VERY good (IMHO), and I'm looking forward to the next few Monday nights, to see who else is getting another chance.

Susan has a mental problem of some kind. She doesn't relate well to others. I was glad she won because her talent is magnificent and she really started the success of AGT nine years ago. I didn't like the comedian who won. He complained he should have beat 12-year-old Darcy who is one of the best acts ever on that show. Sour grapes. He's funnier than the trailer lady who I find not funny. The clairvoyants and ladder guy were better.

How do the clairvoyants do it? I wonder if they can pick the winning lottery numbers?

Susan Boyle was diagnosed with autism after her appearances. That makes it very hard for her to be in large companies of people. It is amazing that she has done as well as she has.

Well I watched it. Two were sent to the finals. Each show has a golden buzzer, last night it was Mel B, she gave it to Boyles. The Male comedian was the one chosen by the call in vote.

Terry crews was the host, I like him, but didnt think he did anything impressive.

I'll watch but so far it hasn't been up to par for me.

My younger sister is also on the autism spectrum. The reason Susan Boyle's diagnosis "was so late coming in her life" is because prior to her being on Britain's Got Talent, she had never been around large groups of people. She is from a small town (population less than 10,000) in Scotland. The kind of town where everyone knows everyone else. She's not used to, nor is she comfortable with, being the center of attention.

Where were the Champions? I thought I'd see the winners of AGT and other GT shows. Oh, I forgot, there was the sword sallower, from Russia? I couldn't watch his performance, too disturbing for me. Thought Terry did a good job, but found his appearance distracting. Was his suit leather, too small, or did he just sleep in it. I remember when nhe was hosting Millionaire, I thought that his clothes always seemed too small. Could be trying to show off his physique?

I am also stumped how the clairvoyants do this. As to Susan Boyle, not really a fan of the kind of music she sings, but my daughter commented on how great her technique is. As in singing correctly to not hurt her voice. I wouldn’t know the difference unless somebody really screams.

I am sorry I missed it. Love Susan Boyle's voice and there is something about her that makes me want to hug and squeeze her.

I didn't think Preacher Lawson was 'complaining' when he commented about losing to a 12 year old. I think he was poking fun at himself for losing to her. He sure had me laughing last night.

Mare, everyone that was on last night has been on a GT show. Not all of them were the million dollar winners, but they all progressed pretty high up the ladder. The very first act last night, a singer, (I can't remember her name) was the winner of the very first AGT show, if I understood them correctly. If you go to the AGT website, you can see which season they competed in, and were they finished.

Now I'm wondering how the call-in votes from the 50 states works. If they explained that, I missed it.

Mare, I completely agree about Terry's suit! What was up with that? It surely didn't seem to fit him; the jacket button pulled across his front and puckered the jacket - it was awful.

I hated the results - I just can't stand Preacher. I don't think he's funny at all. I don't understand how Sophie lost out to him. She's absolutely amazing. Of course, all IMO, but gee - most people can tell a joke that's not funny, but how many people can bend and balance themselves the way she does?

I really enjoyed Preacher Lawson! I also thought he was poking fun at himself for losing to a 12 year old - not complaining about her. I liked that he was able to respond in a very funny way in the moment....while he may (or may not) stick to a script for his act, he didn't need a script to have a funny comeback.

I liked Terry Crews as host much better than Tyra, who was fine, but Nick Cannon was a hard act for Tyra to follow.

Edited to add, YES, Sophie was absolutely amazing. That spinning from her neck in the hoop was incredible. I am happy with Preacher Lawson winning, but do wish Sophie would have won.

I don't get it, what is the big appeal about Susan Boyle? Other singers are just as good if not better than she is.

I think it's because when she first strutted out onto the stage, with her left hand on her hip, on Britain's Got Talent, she was a mousy, overweight, unattractive 47-year-old woman who, when asked by Simon, "what's the dream?" replied that it was "to be a professional singer." The audience audibly snickered. And when she started singing I Dreamed A Dream, the audience, and judges, were gobsmacked. Watch the video in the link I'm providing.

I think Canada's Got Talent lasted two seasons. One of the contestants father owns a music store just a few blocks from me. I hear he may even work for his dad. Not sure whatever happened to him. He was good. And another contestant went on to record many hit songs and sold a lot of albums. But his career crashed and burned a few months ago because of the #metoo movement. Many women finally stepped up and reported his sexual abuse which was just a rumour for a long time. He got married New Years Eve.

Debby, you mean Hedley got his start from Canada's Got Talent? I wonder how many others got their career from that. I don't recall the show at all.

I just saw that The Clairvoyants are coming to a venue near me soon... didn't see it soon enough. I'd want close seats to see them and those were already sold. Dang! I'd love to see them in person.
