Comments (7)The problem with Any big box store flooring is this. They get junk wood which they get cheap which allows them to sell it cheap. Every see lumber liquidators 99 cent hardwood. If you look closely thats utility wood. Which means its all scrap that couldnt be graded for sale. I installed a friends floor they bought from HD and while the floor in every aspect was okay. The problem was each box contains roughly 20 sq ft. Out of each box about 5 sq ft was unuseable. The tongue was busted. Boards were scratched/dented or had visual defects. He had 400 ft to install and had to buy around 550 sq ft just to make up with all the junk wood. The other problem i ran into was what to do with that left over wood? This particular HD would NOT take any wood back that was opened. So he was stuck with that. If your big box store will take returns on open boxes then i say ok. But beware that you will probably need to buy more than 900 as your contractor suggested....See MoreWhat do you think of Lumber Liquidators flooring and installers?
Comments (5)We installed 720 sf of the Morning Star Click bamboo flooring sold by Lumber Liquidators in June of 2013. The material finish scratches easy, however, the scratches are the least of our problems. The cupping started with the shorter pieces in the hallways. By December 2013, the entire installation was cupping and gaps appeared in random areas. When LLI was contacted about the defects, we were informed that the condition was not covered under their warranty. In reading the various reviews on independent sites for this product, it seems that there is a chronic problem with scratching, cupping and separations. Lumber Liquidators will use any excuse to avoid any liability for providing their customers with a very poor product. Our first mistake in selecting our new floor was believing that the reviews on the LLI site were unbiased reviews. The product reviews on the LLI website are "selected" reviews. Gee....I wonder who selects them. Our second mistake was actually purchasing this product. We will have to replace our eight month old floor and it sure as heck will not be with a product supplied by Lumber Liquidators. We learned a $5,000.00 lesson the hard way⦠donâÂÂt make the same mistake. The LLI warranty should be condensed to read: âÂÂWarranty is void if material is removed from factory packagingâÂÂ. It’s everywhere.”?...See MoreLumber Liquidators
Comments (12)Speaking as someone who didn't have a huge budget for flooring, we bought bamboo flooring from Lumber Liquidators in 2012 during our kitchen renovation. The only issue our contractor had (we used our own, not LL's) was that some of the planks were not perfectly straight - but they were few and far between and he ended up using those UNDER the cabinets so they were not visible. We ended up getting more of the same flooring about a year ago when we ripped up the carpet in the adjacent TV room. Again, we had our own contractor install it and they had no complaints. The floors look great. So from a product perspective, I can say that I'm pleased with our bamboo floors from LL....See MoreMittens Cat
