Gillian, That is beautiful, I love the colors!!!! You did a great job. I am making a baby rag quilt now. I use my discount coupons from Joanne's and I buy the cheapest muslin they have. It is usually not high quality. After you pre wash it, it does become thicker and it remains soft (easier to clip). It is my preferred method of batting for raggedy edge quilts. Rosa

Susan, Your quilt is precious! I, too, like the animal print and think it adds just the right interest. Sorry for your loss. I remember that feeling of wanting to share things with my mom, too. It was a very long time before it wasn't my first thought when I had good news about children or grands. Now I just generally think how she would be pleased. Glad you are quilting again. Bev, I have a Baby Lock Tiara. It's a sit-down long-arm quilter, I guess you'd call it. I almost always quilt a meandering pattern, because it's fast (relatively) , and I just want to get it done. It's not my favorite part of making a quilt. I have done a Baptist fan pattern with a ruler, but that was really slow. I'm not a fan of heavily-quilted quilts. I think you sacrifice the cuddle factor with too much quilting.
