Master bedroom- color/rug help
Comments (9)I would definitely NOT do the walls in that color, or the rug. It is a beautiful duvet, and you want it to pop, not blend in. For the walls and rug, I'd pull from the gray/blue that is in the duvet, not the gold/yellow. Don't worry about the wood color. Anything will work where the floor and beams are concerned. For instance, I have the orangey pine floors and beams all over my house, and I have cool colors on the walls. In particular, the Van Courtland Blue I have in one room that has pine floor, beams AND ceiling actually really made the wood GLOW gorgeously, much better than before, when the prior owner had BM Antique White on the walls....See MoreAge old question--carpet or hardwood in master bedroom?
Comments (20)Jij, Maybe sometimes, but I know I don't always pull up my scatter rugs to clean underneath as often as I should, and often find grit underneath. It's interesting as I don't have pads under any, and never ever are shoes worn in the house. I appreciate that I can throughly clean under my rugs. Also, I've had both and now I like only hard surfaces under beds because too much dust can accumulate very quickly. After vacuuming and or dust mopping hard surfaces, I can see that it is clean if I want to look. Editing to add: I don't want to give the impression that I rarely move and clean under my few small rugs and that I find piles of crap under them, LOL!...See MoreHelp needed deciding master bedroom carpet color and paint color!
Comments (6)I am also always drawn to this inspiration pic of jute/sisal look with light gray walls too, but my husband likes gray as he thinks it won’t show as much dirt and wear.......See MoreEclectic Gold and silver master bedroom needs wall and rug color
Comments (8)A beige/brown room is pretty neutral. I like the mixed metal accents. But neither add life to the room. Unless you need the air flow in the room, forget the fan and go for a lovely chandelier instead. Select a wall color that emotes the feelings you like the room to give off. Dark and moody, light and bright, colorful and cheerful. You might start by adding some art that speaks to you when you wake every morning. Take a color(s) from the art and repeat them in pillows, lamps and rugs. Don’t rely on gold and silver as your “color”. Look through inspiration photos of bold bedrooms to help you choose your own toned down version. Push your boundaries then create the mood you desire....See MoreRelated Professionals
