Comments (16)Benjesbride, what you say regarding dining/island makes sense, but unfortunately I have ~11'x16' space to fit in the kitchen. If I decide to rotate the kitchen the way you say it, then my kitchen island will be quite small. I too started out thinking of a longer island and thus came up with option 2, and am not able to find pictures to tell me if that would look ok or not. Secondly, currently the plan is that the Great Room will be mainly conversation area. TV will be in a separate room, so no need to consider TV-watchability. Mama Rachel, your idea of spice kitchen is great! That's the kitchen I started out "wanting". I had to abandon it halfway, however, because of space constraints. My whole house is ~2200 sqft, therefore allocating disproportionately large amount of space to the kitchen would have meant I gave up on some other priorities. Mama Rachel : regarding powder: we decided to ditch the powder because of the availability of full bath on that floor, which otherwise will be guest bath. We also wanted as much storage as possible, therefore decided on having a storage rather than powder. Anyway, here's the original plan. Note that we added ~5ft towards the courtyard and some square footage along top wall (which is facing backyard). I am working on sizing of the entry right now, because I think it's a bit too big for the house, but that space will NOT become available to the kitchen again due to the building rules....See MoreNeed help deciding my next haul!
Comments (52)Cynthia, I have been growing rose trees in pot for about 7-8 years. The 1st batch I had 40+, most of them I collected from JP's summer sale, I lost a few weak ones over the years. but the winter killed the whole batch all at once 3 years ago, if I remember it right I lost 37 after the coldest winter. I made a mistake that winter, I normally store all rose trees in the garage, but that year I was being lazy to push 3 scooters to 2 garden sheds for winter storage, so I piled up rose trees in the 2 sheds without any winter protection, and they were all gone in the spring, the canes were purplish red, then turned brown....... they made me cry for a long time....... so that Spring I started 2nd batch with 23 KO rose trees, and added 2 more $10 Lowe's bargain trees later, I had these 25 rose trees for 3 years. I have never done any winter protection for them in the garage. but this year I am going to wrap up all my new trees from JP, I heard this winter is going to be a cold one..........See MoreNeed help deciding between 2 floor tiles
Comments (7)you have 4 different, very different, types of tiles. they don't work together. sorry. your tiles appear cream and your vanity is white. Do you have to have those tiles on the wall? The wood look tile should be replaced with a simple porcelain if you want a spa feel. these are all porcelain, except this first one, which is Basalt: this bathroom is a little more cohesive w/their tile selection. similar to what you want these come in other colors. i'm just showing you the format. although, I do like these charcoal tones on the floor w/your vanity. these would be better on the shower flowr...See Moreannied75
