I'll add...oh no, things are taking a 'tern' for the worse!

This not very good photo comes with a story. Our friend described helping a duck and her 6 ducklings cross a very busy road last spring and into the Back Cove (Portland Maine). Our daily walk includes this area and within a few days, we saw this same family in a backwater area. This picture was taken during the summer and mom still had 5 ducklings (one not in the shot). Happily, I saw them yesterday - still together, but the littles ones are now about the same size as the mom.

This rubber ducky belonged to my kids when they were little - the oldest is now 40.

I've kept it on the tub surround just waiting for the day when I'd get to bathe a grandchild. Well that day is approaching - my first is due at the end of April! I guess I should check to make sure it still floats....

Marie-cate, your rubber ducky reminded me of this really big one that I took a picture of as it floated on one of Pittsburgh's rivers a few years ago. That little girl is now 9 years old.

All these rubber ducks remind me of the Veitch video, which if you haven't seen it, is very funny.
