Tuesday Morning or Bed Bath and Beyond but for both you have to watch the sales. A suggestion however is unless the room is open why not use a king sized top sheet in place of a bedspread. It will keep the dust etc. off of a fully made bed and with some of the patterns available you can more cheaply change to a more seasonal style.

But dust collects on the spread, right? Why not cover everything with a plain sheet that can be pulled off before an arrival? I leave guest room beds unmade until an imminent arrival, bedding all stored on shelves and closets.

How about thin quilts? I do this not so much for company but because of the dog. He goes on everything and I needed to be able to throw bedding in the wash as frequently as needed, yet, I still wanted the rooms to look finished.

One is my office. It has two twin beds. I have quilts and matching shams. When guests come, I remove the quilt and sham. The comforter is already on the bed ready to go.

I freshen sheets as needed.

If you never use these rooms for yourself, I like Rhizo's idea of just keeping the bed covered with a sheet, and freshen as needed when company arrives.

I recently bought Charleston Matelasse Bedspread from Overstock. But I have a double bed and it goes to the floor on all sides with plenty of length to cover the pillows. In looking, the thing I found was to measure the length and width you want for your bed and then go by the measurements listed. Each bed is so different due to the height of the frame, the box spring and how thick the mattress is that you really need the actual measurements or else it could be too short or long, regardless of how it's labeled.

I started buying bedspreads at Walmart and love them! So easy to throw in the washer/dryer than bulky quilts. I can't remember the name brand but a king size was less than $30. The shams cost about half that!

Our guest room is where our cat sleeps. She sheds like crazy. I started putting a sheet over the spread because of her hair. Works great, nice clean bed underneath!
