I mostly box and wrap in paper, but some awkwardly shaped or sized items go in a gift bag. Hubs helps with the wrapping. I don't do color themes. What i try to do is use different paper for each recipient. For example, one person's presents will all be wrapped in a holly design paper, another person's gifts will all be wrapped in Christmas tree design paper, etc. That way I don't have to use name tags.

Each person is delegated a specific wrapping paper. I then scatter them about, but then it's easy to reach and distribute because they are color coded!

I sometimes use a bag or two. I am do most of the wrapping with DH and my DD's usually wrapping something for me.

I wrap almost all in paper. No theme, all kinds of colors. I am trying to avoid any paper with glitter that goes all over the place. It was raining the whole yesterday, so I started wrapping. My husband’s family goes overboard for every holiday, so lots to wrap. Here are some, put in boxes to go under the in laws tree.

When DD was little her Santa presents had special Santa paper that no other presents were wrapped in :-)

I have very little gift wrapping to do since we only give gifts to the grand kids.

I only buy for SO, who is a bit of a fuddy duddy.For clothes, i like those pretty gift boxes that have designs on them so you don't have to wrap them. For the rest, it depends. I bought him a travel coffee mug that i thought would come in a box but it didn't, so i bought a skinny gift bag for it. I like to wrap everything i can. SOs favorite color is blue, so i usually get all different shades/types of blue wrapping paper. For bags, i try to find cute ones with dogs on them, we both are dog lovers.

This year, for some reason, I am going with a black/gold/blue theme. Even though his favorite color in general is blue, his favorite to wear is black and he also likes gold.Our tree is a very small, real Douglas fir i found at Lowes. It came with a tiny little tree stand. It is only MAYBE 4 feet tall. But its a real tree, AND it fit in my corolla! Yay! I got called into work at the last minute and couldn't go shopping for decorations for it yet, but i don't really care if it matches the presents. I bought lots of paper today with gold and black designs. Getting excited to wrap!!!!

AAAAnd i just remembered i didn't water the teeny tiny tree....dang it. Oh well, it didn't have water in it when i bought it, maybe it will last until morning. :)

I tend to wrap most things in boxes, but I'll resort to a gift bag if the item is too awkward to fit easily into a box. I don't stick to a theme. Here are a few of the packages that I wrapped last year.

Like Lindsey, I use bags for odd items that are too hard to box or wrap with paper. Most things are put in a box with tissue and then wrapped with paper and I use bows and ribbon or some combination. I used ‘Santa specific’ paper when the kids were small. And I have used some person-specific paper in occasion. My DD loves Snoopy and I have wrapped her gifts in that paper sometimes, even now. But I just pick a few large rolls of paper each year now and go with it, not specific to each person as a rule and no overall coordinated theme but it works. No glitter to go everywhere, but I will use mostly red and gold or red and silver, gold and silver, things like that if I can.

I don't have a lot of gifts to buy so I don't mind wrapping especially if they're boxed already. I like to wrap gifts for kids because I think it's more exciting to watch them open them. No themes, I usually don't do any ribbons, sometimes not even a bow. Odd shaped gifts usually go in a bag. I do notice and appreciate extra efforts to make a pretty package, though.

People are wrapping already? I guess I should start shopping.

But I only buy for DH and the 2 sons and their SO's. I no longer buy for siblings or my mom whereas DH still buys for his mom, siblings and their kids.

ETA - I do a mix of bags and wrapping paper but no bows or ribbons. One year when the kids were young I thought I would be environmentally friendly and wrapped all their papers in the weekend comic section of the paper. They made it clear that they didn't care for my efforts. :)

Only wrapping paper and only at Christmas.

I use gift bags the rest of the year and only wrap gifts that can't/won't fit in a bag easily.

For Christmas though, I only buy wrapping paper in my colors (blue, silver, white, cream) and each person has their own paper that year.

I haven't gotten any gifts yet this year which puts me far behind. Normally, I'm done before Thanksgiving.

Fun’s are really pretty! There were times I tried. Never could get a hang of bows like this. I do put a bit more effort in the few neighbors/ friends ones. Just tried to think how many presents there are to wrap. It’s at least a hundred. And no, I don’t wrap the ones for my dogs.

no theme or coordinating. what i bought the year before on clearance is what i use.

when kids were little i would buy dollar store paper and use that for 'Santa's' gifts, that way no other gifts were in that paper.

These days I only do gifts for my daughter so I do try to make the wrapping special! But sometimes a gift bag is the most suitable. And her birthday is the 28th so at least one gift will not be in Christmas wrap!!

Any other gifting for friends and family are food treats but they get their own Christmas themed 'wrapping', be it a box or tin or jar lid cover.

I did all the wrapping. The prettiest Christmas was the one where I did everything in green and silver, all the packages in a variety of combinations, it seemed so elegant and calm. The table was set with green linens and silver reindeer napkin rings and greenery and silver reindeer candle holders. It looked fabulous for a while, then family arrived with their presents and all my pretty packages were hidden. So I didn’t do that again. But it sure was pretty.

These days, I usually use two papers that look good together, and if the grandsons will be here, one of those papers is a juvenile print. I like to buy the large rolls of wrapping paper from Costco. They last a few years, and I never run out in the midst of wrapping a large present. Quite economical.

We don't do Christmas gifts anymore, but back in the day, wrapping gifts was one of my favorites parts of the holiday. I'd make a night of it starting with getting out all the wrapping paper and my collection of little things to decorate packages with (bells, tiny Christmas balls, little stuffed Santas/snowmen/reindeer, plastic candy canes, small pine cones edged in gold paint and tied together with a bow and so on. Then I'd get myself an adult beverage, turn on the music and immerse myself into making the packages looks as festive as possible.

These days, if I do a gift exchange, I wrap the item in tissue paper, put it in a gift bag and put more tissue paper on top. My, how times have changed!

I just can't wrap anymore, hands don't cooperate. So I buy pretty bags or nice decorative boxes and bows, lots of colored tissue paper. For our Christmas exchange this year I found a really cute Christmas stocking that the gift fit into so I will put it in there and add lots of tissue paper.

I don't do a theme, just what strikes me as a very pretty design.

I enjoy wrapping gifts, I am like Dawn, make a tasty adult beverage, put on Christmas Carols, turn the lights on the tree on & get all festive like, lol!

I do use a mixture of bags & gift wrap but they MUST coordinate. This year, it's a red plaid & brown paper theme. Many have vintage scenes, which I love!

For the past couple of years I've used white paper to wrap boxes and then use coordinating bows to finish them off. But back when my son was small, it was all FUN wrapping paper.

I like wrapping gifts. The only time I use a gift bag is when taking gifts to work, as I have to carry it a ways from my car to the building and it's more convenient. I prefer wrap with traditional Christmas colors...but have used wrap that has that awful lime green because the wrapping was pretty. One year I just used brown craft paper and stenciled designs on it and painted holly and berries etc... It actually looked nice. Usually no theme though, other than Christmas green, red, and white and maybe a little silver or gold.

I've been using plain kraft paper for years, as well as brown paper wine bags and even lunch bags. But I have so much fun finding wonderful fabric ribbons, burlap, jute, rubber stamps, and special tissue paper that make the packages really fun and special. I collect or make rustic ornaments suited to the recipient to decorate the packages. You wouldn't believe the gorgeous ornaments that can be found at very good prices. (FYI-Crate and Barrel ornaments are on sale.)

It's a creative outlet, I'm not sure why.

My grandkids won't be pausing to admire the wrapping or bows so we keep it simple, paper and tape or box.

We also do bags for odd shaped items, but mostly we do paper because we're coming off 7 years of elementary school gift wrap fund raisers... I joke with DD that her kids are going to get gifts wrapped in some of that paper. I've vowed to not buy anymore paper until we use up what we have. So no theme, except paper we like.

In our family, particularly with DH's family, we tend to recycle the gift bags and the same ones turn up year after year. It's sort of fun to see the same ones again and again, though sometimes hard to make a call that one needs to be culled and recycled.

I was languorous years back and only did the bags. But as my mood lifted after my mother's death I came back alive. She was 96 years old. But for the last several years I have sought out the prettiest paper, ribbons and bows I could muster up and bought them. I made some bows of my own also. My mom loved Christmas and so do I. I am wrapping Everything this year that I possibly can, except for the few things that cannot possibly fit any kind of box. A few bags for the awkward shaped small things.

I rather miss the odd shaped wrapping some things afforded long ago. I love to see balls wrapped like huge pieces of candy. I also miss seeing things wrapped in comic pages. Who reads a print paper? Times, they are a changin' but that doesn't mean I gotta like it.

All of my gifts are wrapped in the same paper. I buy the big roll from Costco that is printed on both sides. I do half the gifts with one side, the other half the other side. One year I made my own gift wrap.
