I love those guys! They’ve done tons of funny videos in the same style on different topics, all family friendly (I think they started as a group from church). Check out Bored Shorts on YouTube for more :-)

Hurrray, for your rain, Karen! I know water is a huge concern in Australia and this rain is a real blessing for you and will save you so much work as well. Your beautiful roses will be coming up gangbusters! Corrinne looks so adorable! Karen, you would laugh at this, but as a little girl I hated dolls with a passion--I loved building blocks and Legos, I was fascinated with train sets, and I loved watching race car tracks; the Little Serena would have been thrilled with a racing car set, but did I ever get that, nooooo....LOL, LOL! I also loved books but we always had to go to the library for those. I ended up with so many fines from the library because I was always losing my books (constant forgetfulness and absentmindedness) and borrowing more and more books, hahahaha! I owed piggy banks of book fines, hahaha! By the way, it's still snowing in Kansas-2 feet deep in certain pockets of my yard. Big fat flakes and deep, deep snow! Used to be that our snows were very brief and very shallow. Not this year, LOL!

I don't think it is Christmas that stresses you it's family. Are you buying other adults presents? If you are, it is only right to include him. If you aren't,don't buy him anything. We phased out gifting for adults over 18 and only bought presents for the children. Which is more stressful, buying him a gift or not buying him one. I think you or her Dad needs to tell her to stop bringing problems to your house. If he allows it.....it will never change.

lol, I ignored MIL's friend request. NO WAY!!! But, I was already FB friends with BIL & SIL because they have been on FB since I opened my account, MIL just opened hers. I'd hate to delete it because ONE person wants to write nasty things to me. I know this doesn't sound nasty to most people but the ONLY time she posts anything is to "confront" me about SD. When DH took SD shopping for school clothes (because I refused to take her), I commented something to him like "good luck shopping with a teen girl..lol" and SIL went off on me... even her son who's 15 had something to say.. as if I was writing nasty mean things about SD. Later on, they both said they felt they needed to "protect" SD and defend her. Um, mothers of teen girls write stuff like that all the time.. or worse. I am about to unfriend her. I just don't get why she doesn't unfriend me... obviously she doesn't like me & has nothing nice to say to me. I don't 'not like' her, I don't know her. I have felt sorry for her because of the way MIL talks about her... I know she took the brunt before I came along. It's more about THAT than it being posted on FB. I'm beginning to dread Christmas, which is probably what they want... so I don't go. I may just give them what they want & let DH go alone. My DIL expressed an interest in seeing DGS that day so I may offer to drive him so I have a good reason to not go with DH... I don't really feel I need a reason at all but at least DH can explain to his mom that I had to go instead of it looking like I just don't want to go see them... lol, which I really don't. Grrrr! It does make me angry that I am willing to suck it up & be nice for DH's sake. I ordered personalized gifts for them & was going to go & be gracious/cordial but now I don't know if I could muster a fake smile for that group. I'm pretty sure DH would understand if I don't want to go but they would give him a hard time... and I don't see him standing up to them. He might, but I doubt it. He wants everyone to just get along.

I love the lines: "His mean little mouth was drawn up in a sneer But the cleft in his chin was as cute as his rear...." That's why it would be fun to see the original version as it played out over those days/weeks. We had to wait to see what lines would be posted next, and it was that much more amusing because they were posted in two or four line additions.

Very cute! I loved it.

This brings up another point and that is additions have been made in the telling of this story. Nowhere in the Bible does it mention how many 'wise' men visited the Christ Child. It only mentions 3 gifts; There is no record of how many men or people paid respects. This void has been filled in by artists, assumption, and common practice. Our culture abounds with images of three wise men on camels to the extent that many people automatically think: Three Wise Men traveling on camels. It is assumed they were on camels. This is a plausible assumption because a camel is capable of traveling long distances in desert terrain. People of that period also rode donkeys.

In a few instances, I have heard people say that the Magi (Zoroastrian Wise Men) followed the eastern star to Bethlehem. But wait, what is recorded in the Bible? Of the 4 Gospels, the Christ Star is mentioned only in the Book of Matthew.

Quote, Matthew 2, 2: "Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the
king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, saying, Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East [or at its rising]."

The Magi were from Persia (Iran) and if they traveled toward an eastern star, they never would have arrived in Bethlehem. The Magi saw an eastern star as a sign of Christ's birth, and traveled toward Jerusalem, not toward an eastern star, made inquiries, and then continued to Bethlehem. We do not know if they arrived in time for Jesus's birth or some time later.

Seriously jemdandy!?!?! Does EVERYTHING need to be argued about??? No one thinks they REALLY made it!! Which is why we celebrate their entrance into the story on Epiphany!!! Best we can tell they found Jesus in Egypt when he was a toddler.... Yes, the bible has the story and yes people/artists/authors make the important parts fit cohesively in sweet stories. The video was GREAT thanks for sharing. It is dangerous to assume EVERYTHING fact for fact is in the Bible. Jesus/God never claimed that!!!! The bible is about God's truths not FACTS.

Gotta love the way kids use 'magical thinking'. They have such limited context, and they don't dare challenge adults, upon whom they are dependent. It's remarkable.
