Just in time for the cookingpalooza my recipes are back

My recipes have been held hostage for half a year by the computer that was allergic to Houzz. It was in a terrible snit and occasionally I gave it little treatments that improved its mood, but it would still seize up. During this time, it was quite hot, which M. Computer hates, and I wasn't feeling all that sharp, which I hate, so we haven't been talking. I don't usually use recipes daily cooking, anyway. There are recipes I now need in there, however, that I don't have on hard copy, so it was a choice of fix it or take it in. It squawked at me again this morning, but showed me the exact time it stopped taking inputs, and I was finally able to square that away. So far so good. Touch wood and tell the fairies, it's currently airgapped, so isolated from intruders, and seems to be talking to both the mouse and the keyboard. The printer is still out of the loop (that is, off), but the screen seems to be displaying all that a display should.

Yea! I can cook! I was going to wing it on some party nibbles for the freezer yesterday, and they would have been fine, but I thought they needed scallions and put it off for after shopping, so now I'll have a better idea of how much salt to put in untasteable 'till done stuff. I don't trust the internet for seasoning amounts.

I know there were a few times I've said I couldn't get at this recipe or that. I doubt anyone is waiting on them with breath abated, but if there is something of mine, or saved by me from the group, that any of you wanted, I now have them. After the holiday cooking is over in a few weeks, I'll try something daring like hooking it up to the internet and tucking my files in the cloud. :)

Meantime, let the cooking commence!
