Anyway, I did make the brown Depression Block (Dennis's quilt) the size in Quilter's Cache. The black and white one (Rachel's quilt) was made using 6 inch blocks for the HST's, so it is actually a bit larger. I love that block because it looks nice with all kinds of leftover fabrics, and the size is easily adjustable. beverly

Hi June, I've made several t-shirt quilts. Yes, you do need to back the streachy t-shirts. I use a light-weight fusible interface. You can get it at stores like Joann's. Cut the back of the shirt from the front by cutting up the sides of the shirt and across the shoulders. Iron the fusible to the wrong side of the part of the shirt with the logo. Some logos are on the front, some on the back. I put the logo face down on the ironing board, place the interfacing on top (be sure the fusible side of the interfacing is down). Place a teflon pressing sheet over the fusible web and press. Do not let the iron touch the logo as many will melt. I cut the interfacing a couple inches larger than needed so I can square up easier. Once fused, cut out the t-shirt logo to whatever size you want. I'd measure the largest logo and cut the rest to that size, centering the logos within that dimension. My first quilt blocks were 12 1/2". My next one contained all different size blocks from 3" - 9". I've also fused interfacing to the unused side of the t-shirt, cut strips and used it to enlarge smaller blocks. Sue

Thanks, everyone! The room is now a medium blue. I just finished the bed skirt which is a green leaf print. Eventually there will be some tropical print pillow shams and valance, and 4 wall hangings - 2 flamingo quilts, an orchid quilt and a hibiscus quilt. So far the orchid and the larger of the flamingos are done. Donna

I used a light-weight iron on interfacing on the back of the t-shirt blocks. I cut the interfacing a little larger than the size block I wanted to make and then ironed it onto the back of the logo. After cutting the logo with interfacing out, I was able to square it to the size I needed for the quilt. I used sashing between the blocks and then quilted it with a large meander on the quilting machine. I have the blocks ready to make a quilt for DS but haven't had time to put it together yet. I made one for DD several years ago and it was very large. She had lots of shirts! Linda OH
