What is the realistic spacing required when planting semi-dwarf t
Comments (7)I'm not sure that fruitnut answered your question. Semi-dwarf apples are about the size of a peach tree. Crowding means having the branches of adjacent trees grow into each other, or not having room to get between the trees to mow and spray and set up a ladder. If you have the room and only plan to have a few trees, I'd space them even wider than 15'. If you want many trees in limited space, you can grow them closer together in the row, but leave at least 15' between rows. 20'(or more) is better if you want to drive between the rows after the trees are mature....See Moreneed ideas about what to plant
Comments (1)Check 'Musa basjoo' (Hardy banana). A lot of people in a colder end of z6 grow it outdoor. Even if not hardy in your zone, it is inexpensive and could be grown as annual. There are many hardy large leaf plants, but most of them will not tolerate full sun. Comments (10)Abstract Art is one I have that I really like. It's a peachy pink in my garden, with a subtle pattern. I almost wrote it off because I prefer patterns and bright colors, but my hubby, who won't let me get rid of anything, said it's healthy, let it go. Well, it's now filled out to a fairly large clump and I really like it (thanks, hubs!). The color gets richer every year, it seems! I also have Chicago Apache, Hyperion, Moonlit Masquarade and Joan Senior. Agree with everyone else on these, with one exception - Joan Senior. My gardens are in full sun and I mean full sun! Joan has a tendency to melt on me - looks great in the AM, translucent and gross in the PM. If I had any shade, I'd relocate her! Otherwise, though, she's healthy as any other and multiplies nicely. Seeds like crazy too! Sounds like you got some good deals and nice plants! KCC...See MoreAny ideas about what this plant might be?
Comments (4)Ken, not all shrub honeysuckles are weedy, invasive species. :-) I wouldn't be without Lonicera nitida or L. pileata in the garden - excellent and versatile broadleaved evergreen shrubs. Or my latest favorite, the groundcovering Lonicera crassifolia. But none of these are the plant in question........and I have no guesses beyond what has already been suggested ;-)...See Moresignet_gw(6b)
