Bet you didn't know. I didn't
Comments (6)Thanks for sharing that Ron. I did not know any of those stories. They all touched me, and they made me think of many other stories there are out there. I travel a lot on my job and in pursuit of my other passion in life; trout fishing. I see men and women in uniform in almost every airport I travel to, but I particularly see many on my trips to Charlotte. Some of these folks are going "over there" (or getting ready to) and a few of them I've met were coming home. I never go by without letting these people know that many people here at home, whom they have never met, care deeply about them, worry for them, wish them a swift and safe return, and thank them for their service. I hope these people never ever want for their fellow Americans respect and concern. And I hope that if you are reading this that you will reach out to these people when you see them in your own life, shake their hand, thank them for the job they do, and let them know in some small but sincere way that you care. You'll be doing that person and yourself a great deal of good in the process....See MoreWhat do you like Now that you didn't like Before?
Comments (26)For years I didn't care for potato chips or French fries though I liked potatoes prepared other ways, but the past few years there are times I crave them now. It's a combination of the oil/grease & salt. Rather than a certain food, I find that I now like specific dishes a lot more than I used to: stews, pot roast, sauerkraut, sausage, biscuits & gravy (notice the interest in heavy fat foods?) A kind of sad thing, I LOVED chocolate to the point of once buying & eating a whole BOX of Hershey's bars, & going to chocolate conventions for a few years. Now I've lost my taste for chocolate; I don't hate it, but I don't care if I have it or not, & when I do have a piece, it doesn't taste all that great. Calories I don't have to worry about, I suppose. It's also given me empathy for older people who have lost their taste for food....See MoreShes says she didn't do it............(pic)
Comments (14)That little angel couldn't have done anything that bad. That's the same thing I said about our little Great Dane angel when I got home from work one day and saw this...and dh was at home when this happened. I told him he can't just look at a computer and/or tv screen all day and think nothing is going to happen around the house. Sorry about the fan boxes, but we are expecting an electrician one day this week to install them. ( I'm even sorrier about the love seat ) I'm not going furniture shopping until I'm sure he is through eating it. Linda...See MoreWhy didn't I think of this before
Comments (40)Enzymes in my dishwasher, what a novel idea LOL... today at lowes they had a 46 count tub of Cascade Complete Action Pacs for 11$ and I had a 3$ off coupon so I bought it, since I've never been able to use these guys I don't know if that was a good price or not, I know they won't go to waste since they work for me now LOL. I walked back by the dishwashers just to look and there was an elderly couple attempting to buy..the salesman was feeding them a losd of bull S.. telling them the Maytag still used all the water their old one did and it was all made in the USA...and it was still ad always made by Maytag...I opened my mouth..I ask doesn't Whirlpool make Maytag nowadays..he turned and glared at me...I also said if all the parts are still made in the US why are they labeled by a chinese company...he glared worse...than I said if it still uses the same amount of wster as their 25 year old dishwasher how did Whirlpool get by the gov. Restrictions...he turned and said GO AWAY...ok, maybe I should have kept my mouth shut but he was lying to these people...they followed me and ask ehat dishwasher they should get..and said there's still worked..I suggested they research different brands...they than said their new maytag dryer broke after 4 months and it took 9 months for the part to arrive and another 7 weeks for someone to arrive to fix it...as we were talking their son probably in his 40 walked up...he was so happy they didn't buy the Maytag and said Mom your supposed to be getting the Bosch...and off they went aftet the son thanked me for stopping a sale that would have taken his time to go thru the cancelation paperwork....I need to just keep my mouth shut..but that salesman was lying.....I'll never forget his face when he told me GO AWAY.....he didn't lose a sale, they did buy a Bosch....See MoreUser
