It's beautiful and looks like Jude the Obscure to me. Did you see the bush the cutting came from? The size and shape would help to ID your rose. Opinions on the fragrance of Jude are all over the place, but most agree it is strong and the Austin site says "fruity". In any case, I bet it is an Austiin rose. You could look at the David Austin website https://www.davidaustinroses.com/us/roses-by-type/english-roses and compare your rose to similar ones. Some to look at are Wollerton Old Hall, Desdemona and Claire Austin, all creamier colors, but can become more apricot or peach during cold weather. Sometimes I can hardly tell Desdemona and Jude apart.

That one indeed looks like Jude to me :). It sure is gorgeous and many people agree that it smells heavenly. Congrats on your beautiful rose.

The original rose bush was very large and multi stemmed. At a guess I'd say 7 foot high. At the moment I have it in a 9 litre pot and it has formed a nice healthy bush. Quite a lot of flower buds on it so I'll have a good supply of flowers during the next couple of months. Thank you for your help. It certainly looks identical to jude the obscure based on photos I have seen on Google

Although just doing some more googling the description and photos of Wollerton Old Hall seem more accurate. It mentions they are thornless, multi stemmed, growing up to 8 foot tall and the photos seem spot on

Wollerton Old Hall has a distinctive licorice/anise fragrance. I’m not sure about Jude as I’ve never encountered it in person.

Here’s mine, a little more bleached in the heat. I started a couple cuttings from it too, it was pretty easy, no plastic bag or anything just stuck it in a little pot.
