Hi, Lindsay. I've got a few furniture arrangements to consider. They all have a moveable island cart for the kitchen. The first two are similar to your current set-up, in that they define the entry. One has the reversible chaise while the other is a regular sofa. The last one has a sideboard behind the sofa. It would serve as a sofa table and provide additional storage. You could think about placing your less frequently used kitchen items in there. The last one also has a reversible chaise. Pottery Barn has some reversible chaises, but I'm not certain their upholstered furniture is of high quality, so you'll want to look into that. Their case goods may be okay. Here are examples of the reversible chaise sofa and a sideboard. The chaise on the sofa has a storage compartment. The dimensions of each seem to be compatible with one another. Photos? the kitchen/dining colors don't sound like they match your LR furniture. UNLESS, the sofas are all ivory and you can replace the accessory colors. OR, alternatively, paint the kitchen wall a blue or green or soft white (which may be easier in the long run!).

Yes, I am a professional color consultant; I actually worked for Sherwin-Williams as a color consultant and have worked almost exclusively with their colors for nearly 20 years. I am not contradicting pairing Accessible Beige with Misty; however, I believe it is a poor choice for the author's living space as described. I have no problem offering personal advice with professional confidence. Perhaps you've noticed by now that I had offered @janesterly some color options for her space. Also, you misunderstood: gray with blue undertones (in lighter shades) gives off a baby blue vibe -- and I stand behind that statement!

Really pretty space. The dining & living areas seem very well defined by the soffits & posts so don’t see any issues with a rug in both spaces. I would want them to complement each other in style & color. The entry - is that an inlay on floor - like a mariners compass type design? If yes, that might be a more challenging rug space unless design is totally covered up. Might be a nice feature though & I can’t determine the amount of space between it & the door. Maybe in that spot for a rug, a rectangle shape in front of door & a bit less than width of space from door to inlay & a solid color would work best.
