anyone ever had blister-beetles before???
Comments (12)Monday I did not notice anything out of the ordinary with the tomatoes. Tuesday I only gathered from the outside of the patch and only what I needed for dinner. Wednesday I went around to where I was Monday Holy Smokes there were hundreds of them!!! Three plants had major defoliation and they were spreading to all the others. I used Pyola and within a minute of spraying they were falling like a rainstorm. There literally were 1,000 to 1,500 that I saw falling in clumps. This is from 8 plants. They did scatter like the wind, and they are fast little buggers. As a precaution I sprayed the beans, squash, peppers and cucumbers that evening also. They did not fall dead and I need to check tonight to see if I can find any dead or live ones. This is my third planting season in my home and I have never seen these guys before. I tilled last fall and again this spring. The only organic matter I introduced was composted leaves last fall that IÂve had for the 3 years now, so no obvious foreign source for eggs. Where would they all have come from?!?!!?? I tell ya, I have never seen so many bugs move in so fast and do so much damage. Oh, I also got some small rash areas from them before I sprayed and before I knew what they were. I did not touch them but must have brushed against a couple while picking cherry tomatoes before I knew they were there. DidnÂt itch and went away overnight w/out any medicines....See MoreHas anyone ever had or experienced .....
Comments (12)"It's the GE washing machine in our apartment - probably a cheapie - but not a public laundry room." OK, good. But citing the model number off the machine's tag would be even better for confirming what you have .. frontloader, HE toploader or standard. Does anyone in the household use acne medication? Benzoyl peroxide is a bleaching agent and will cause spotting on fabric. Some toothpastes could possibly do that. Or household cleaning agents. I've gotten what appear to be bleach spots on several pairs of casual shorts, khaki color and black. Not all pairs I have (all washed together) are affected, and all the spotting didn't occur at the same time. I suspect it was caused by splatters from toilet cleaner....See MoreHas anyone ever had this happen to their Kalanchoe Tubiflora before?
Comments (8)I think this is just natural for this species, once they get a certain size, I believe they are trying to deposit all those babies in the soil. I've grown lots of these plants in full sun all day and they all seem to do it and you can't fight it, I've tried.... You might have some luck cutting the droopy stems off to encourage branching, and stick the cutting in the pot....See Morehas anyone ever had
Comments (14)Bengardening, my mother had it quite a long time ago while I was away at school, therfore, I saw her only on weekends. I think she had a severe case and was initially misdiagnosed. She was always busy and this really gave her a wallop. She had to go for speech therapy but she never recovered completely and always had a speech impediment among other things. I am telling you this, not to frighten you, but to encourage you to get the very best medical care possible. Over the years I have known of several acquaintances that had it and all recovered completely in a relatively short time. That surprised me, considering how it effected my mother. To me it always seemed like there wasn't much awareness based on how we had to explain mom's condition. I hope you recover from this quickly and completely....See Morececily 7A
