I would go with full length drapes. Your curtains look skimpy. Could you get extra two panels? Get a wider rod.

I suggest a piece of art above the sofa. One that greets you with the tone you want for the room, eg: uplifting and optomistic, introspective and contemplative or moody and dramatic, etc.

I think your curtain rod could stand to be wider. It'll make your window look larger. When the curtains are open, they should just touch the frames.

Here's an idea with art and shelves.

Before you add art or family photos over the sofa, make sure the sofa is centered on the wall which it doesn’t appear to be. Agree with getting extra panels to beef up the curtains. Also agree with getting a tall plant for the left side of the sofa. I don’t think you need anything on either side of the window.

I prefer art and not mirrors here. It has a calm and elegant feel and I wouldn't want to mess it up by seeing myself. :)

Try one nice piece of artwork above the sofa, and why not a plant in the corner?
