That arched door is really pretty, but I think I would go with what your architect has designed. There aren't any other arches on your house so it might look out of place.

Try getting some tracing paper and put it over your elevation and draw in the arched door and see what you think.

Also, the photo of the arched door shows it with brick. You have wood siding, so try to imagine the arched door with the wood siding.

One last thing, it's a lot more involved to frame an opening for an arched door, so there might be an up charge from your builder.

The squared off doors on your plan blend with a "farmhouse" look. Have you considered a more traditional Craftsman style to match your garage doors? The arched doors are lovely, however, they seem out of place on your house.

Actually, less is more, more often than not!

Arched door is too McMansion-y.

OTOH, I really hate the idea of that much glass in the front door. It would creep me out at night, no matter what was hung inside.

I honestly have never seen a craftsman door with an arched top , maybe arched windows but never the top. Simple IMO is always better but be careful od playing around too much with diffent ideas on one house.IMO you should have picked a style instead of trying to have it all.The first thing to go would be those shutters

OK...I guess it has to be said. You can't Google "modern craftsman farmhouse" style because it simply doesn't exist. There's no such thing...except in realtor listings and HGTV shows. We all know how authentic and well researched those are...

I know you didn't ask but listen to what others are saying about your design features. There is just too many in your exterior shot. The curved trim over the front door looks more tudor to me. Keep it simple with one style.

I know double doors seem to lend a grand feeling, but I picture them more on a castle or a church. One front door would look better in my opinion, a style that compliments your home. Agree with comments on simplifying for a more cohesive look.

I always wonder, how many times people actually open both of these entry doors. Possibly just at move in time? Not to mention, would they be weak points for break ins along with all the glass?

I just want to follow along. I have many reasons for wanting to see how this goes.

Straight top....no arch. I had to make that same decision on my own new build and chose a similar door with an arch..... and I regret it. Squared off is much more fitting for your home. I did have an arch on another window so the front door is not the only arch on the front elevation, but still, the arch was a mistake.
