Quartz Slabs Not Exactly Matching Advertised Dimensions

Hello,

The quartz we selected for our kitchen countertop is only available in the jumbo size (advertised as 63 x 128 inches per manufacturer website). Based on these dimensions, we determined with our fabricator that we could cover our kitchen with 2 jumbo slabs, but we'd be using almost every bit of material to complete the job. We went ahead and purchased from a nearby store.

Today the slabs finally arrived at the store, and we went to see them in person. They unfortunately measured closer to 62 x 127 inches. After going back to the diagram our fabricator drew and seeing how little wiggle room we have for the cuts, we realized that the small loss of material would indeed negatively impact our design.

Is it unreasonable to expect exact measurements when ordering quartz slabs? It's our first purchase of this kind.

Should we ask that the slabs be returned and replaced with those having precise measurements? Or is that unrealistic?

Thanks in Advance,

James
