What is the most endangered species in North America?

a. the crocodile, b. the pygmy raccoon, c. the elephant, d. the killer whale

The question seems poorly formed to me. Not counting zoos, there have never been elephants in North America so their population is stable at 0. Similarly, not counting Sea World and aquariums, there are no Killer Whales in North America, but there are more than a few in waters adjacent to North America. There is a small population of American Crocodiles in Florida, but more in other parts of North America such as Costa Rica (Where I saw one). I've never heard of a pygmy raccoon, so they might be pretty rare. If I have to choose between the valid provided answers I'd go with the Pygmy Raccoon, but I'll bet it is in fact a different animal, perhaps one that is not even known to science, perhaps one that might be hanging on in some tiny remote pocket even after being declared extinct -- such as the Ivory-Billed Woodpecker.

Sometimes in the middle of the night I wake up because of a tickle in my throat that won't go away. Natural reaction is to cough to try to get the tickle to stop, but I hate to cough a lot during the night and risk waking Hubs. So, I keep a little tin of sugar free mints on my nightstand, and I'll pop one in my mouth - gets rid of the tickle every time.

Sorry if I ruined the fun for anyone with my pedantic trivia objections.

From what I've found for the Pygmy Raccoon there are 250–300 individuals are left on the planet

For the Dusky Gopher Frog in Mississippi there are 60 to 100 remaining.

For the Pygmy Three-Toed Sloth form an island near Panama there was a recent estimate of 79 individuals remaining.

The lowest count I've found for a North American animal is for the Vanquita, a small species of porpoise that lives in the Northern Gulf of California. The population was estimated at 600 in 1997, below 100 in 2014, approximately 60 in 2015, around 30 in November 2016, and only 12 in September 2018, leading to the conclusion that the species will soon be extinct unless drastic action is taken
