Fell in the garden
Comments (25)rainy, sorry you are out of work, unless of course you planned and want to be home. I'm glad you have the phone on your list. Best of luck if you are job hunting. gramma jan Seems like riding mowers, rocks, ladders, getting on the roof, tools, uneven ground, hard surfaces, wet surfaces, imbalance, cows, always wanting to save a buck, trying to prove we are strong/good enough to ourselves and others and doing things we should NOT be doing. Lastly are our short memories about carrying a cell, wearing a med alert bracelet or hesitancy about using a walking stick in the garden are particular dangers for us out there. These are things we must remember to keep mothers from worrying, children protected in our care and us safe in our own and otherÂs environments. Fudge, just came back from watering some pots and here is my cell on my desk chair-fell out of my shallow pocket. I guess it will be cargo pants for me too. Where did I put that catalog? My oath: I will not be penny wise and pound foolish, mow, climb ladders without a handle and a spotter or get on the roof. I will carry my cell, watch for uneven ground, try to get more level walking paths, pay attention to things in my path and the handling of my tools. I am please to have lived this long. I will admit I am older, weaker, wobblier, but I am not ashamed of it and will try to behave accordingly. All this I will do for the well-being of my loved ones and myself. gramma jan...See MoreHow to exercise with broken foot?
Comments (31)Hi Everyone- 3 months ago I hurt my foot and I believe it is a Jones fracture of the 5th metatarcil. The Dr. I saw dismissed it as tendonitis, and gave me no info or help because the fracture didn't show up on the X-ray. He was supposed to get me an MRI and that was 2 months ago. AS it got much worse from walking on it I went a bought a boot. Make a long story short, the Dr office has been dreadfully unhelpful,(different people call back, lose orders, etc) and I am in severe pain and back in the boot when I thought it was getting much better a few weeks ago,. But I was packing and moving and bending over to carry heavy boxes and twisted my foot and now the bone is painful, red and swollen again. It hurts all night when I try to sleep. I have a hard time finding a new doctor. Should I go to an Urgent care. It has been over 3 months I have been incapacitated. I am a single Mom and have no one to help me or drive me. Driving every day hurts but I have to. I cannot get motivated to go in to Urgent care but think I must. Any advice? (I had also herniated a disc in my back last fall and it took 6 months to heal) I am 49 yr old female. Some of the other Dr office I called said they aren't taking new patients...What to do? I had done this to my foot by taking a leap up into the air and landing on it (the one foot) wrong (was trying to demonstrate a dance move to my kids)It hurt for a few days before I realized something was wrong....See MoreTripping on uneven floor tiles just installed - HELP!!!
Comments (41)I had tile laid 3rd party through a flooring company. Big mistake. the contractor hired inexperienced workers who goofed up about 9 tiles (uneven/not adhering well and they have loosened) The contractor came back twice to fix it (complaining the second time) It's still not fixed...so I'm going to do it myself...I'm very handy and recently retired so i can take my time to fix them RIGHT. In the past 3 years EVERY installation job we hired out on our home has been screwed up. That's why i am going to do almost everything myself now. I have replaced a garage wall, repainted the outside of the house with replacing several pieces of wood siding, put in 2 windows (in dormers), refinished wood floors in 3 rooms, etc. I am currently repainting most of the inside of the house and refinishing a gorgeous oak staircase that was covered by carpeting. I only hired out for the tile flooring because i didn't have time then (working full time) and had never put in tile before....See MoreGrant's first trip to the E.R.
Comments (16)Poor baby! Poor Steph and Brent! So sorry Grant got hurt! I remember several ER trips with my kids. The waiting is awful! Roxanne was about three when she was invited to a birthday party for a neighbor kid at a bowling alley. She dropped a bowling ball on her toe. The bowling alley employees rushed over with ice but she was howling so and there was blood on her foot so I scooped her up and took her to the hospital. By the time we got there the bleeding had stopped but not the wailing. We waited about three hours. It was a Sunday afternoon. They did an Xray, pronounced her toe not broken and we went home. The neighbor came over with a brand new teddy bear for her and she recovered nicely. But it was scary. Hope Grant is feeling better....See Moremainenell
