The wall color you currently have looks great, but then, I prefer a "not there" wall color for rooms with art collections. They allow the art and other furnishings to take center stage. Beautiful room!

Thank you, Manon! We felt like the color we have now is a bit too yellow, and perhaps a bit too conservative/boring. We're looking at some slightly deeper, less yellow/gold shades of beige than what we currently have, but I'm afraid of playing it too safe. It's amazing how many different shades of beige there are, and how different they look in various lights. Ugh! Thanks so much for your input and your lovely compliment.

I agree, rug before paint. I would like to see something with a bit of color in it on the walls, rather than the boring beiges. You have the beautiful floors and cabinets, please pick a color that will compliment them. Very pale greens, or sages, or blues, or aquas come to mind. They will make your floors and cabinets pop, rather than everything all blending together.

Look at SW Diverse Beige. It can go grey or beige according to light, furnishings, rugs, etc. It's warm but not yellow.

Were your gorgeous spaces mine, I would stay away from gray in any way, shape, or form. I like the warm tones of your backsplash, pick one of them.

I would do a shade of coral.

Worldly Gray is actually beige. A very light shade.

ma in Michigan - Thanks for your compliment! I had started looking at gray, and my husband looked at me like I had 3 heads! We have always talked about doing a warmer color, and he was pretty jarred by the introduction of gray, even though I was looking at fairly brown, warmer grays. I think we're going to stick to a warm shade of beige, but I don't want everything to look "muddy." We're going to narrow it down to a few colors and slap a big swath of it up on the walls to see how they look in the various lights.
