Interesting, lgmd...apparently the one in our state is in storage somewhere waiting for funding to be restored.

Rainbow at a high school soccer game last week. It was so cold and windy--we huddled under a blanket, and got rained on too--but we had a great view of the sky.

Annie, a lot of Toths carvings have fallen victim to insects and or weather. Most were done in the early 1970's through the mid 1980's. As DH and I traveled around the country on a motorcycle, we made an effort to see as many as we could. We have pictures of 31. A very early carving is placed at the PA welcome center on Interstate 80 near the Ohio border. Read more about Peter Toth, a Hungarian immigrant who took up the cause of the American Indian. His is an interesting story.

Iris, that is probably true--nursery stock is fairly widespread and only enthusiastic bug photographers seem to take shots of the little crawly critters. ;) I intend to break out of the mold tomorrow, as I finally encountered one of the bobcats on the trail this morning. My husband has seen them 4-5 times, but this was my first on that trail.
