We need help picking out rugs for our living room! We would like to put a runner by the entryway and replace the rug underneath the couch. We found this runner that we like and there is also a matching rug. It is weird to have them matching or should we find a different pattern?

Also what is the best size for the rug and runner? Should the runner be the size of the wall from the front door to the entryway of the dining room or go past (first picture with the red line)?

Is the size of the orange rug a good size? It’s 6x9.

Should we instead get a very large rug for the entire room and ditch the runner idea?

We love our dark wood floors and so that’s why we originally were planning to have half to room with no rug - just a runner.

Our style is modern/industrial/eclectic with a mix of antique. Please let us know your thoughts!
