There are so many new hybrids introduced year after year, many that look like yours, it's impossible for me to positively identify it. It could be P. Lavender Lady, P. Betty Miles Young, or P. Monika Fischer, or some new hybrid I've never heard of. It's beautiful, though! Sherry

Passionvine is easy to grow as long as it's not in a really dry place. It can grow over 20' in one season but dies back to the ground each winter. Can be late to emerge; the one on my back porch railing didn't come up until mid-May last year due to our long cool spring. If you have it in good soil the roots will roam; mine has put up some runners in the raised bed behind my house adjacent to the railing, but the runners are easy to pull up and the vine hasn't been hard to control. The vine produces large fruit, which since they're large and relatively few are easy to remove if you don't want it to seed in more. Passionflower is not a very dense vine so your coral honeysuckle will probably be fine next to it. The flower is described as fragrant but I wouldn't describe the fragrance as good or sweet; strange is more like it. Of course the flowers are very intricately beautiful.

Interestingly, my passion vines (P. edulis) don't have any caterpillars on them. However, my potato vines have so many on them, that most of the leaves are gone. To save the other vines growing nearby, I had to spray with some organic caterpillar/bug killer (got it from Home Depot). I hate caterpillars, and by extension, butterflies too. They almost defoliated my plum trees.

Ok, a new report (partially incomplete as it's still early in season)...the 'Incense' has two one+ foot long vines up against the house already. And to my immense surprise, they withstood two nights, with one night a couple days ago in the 25 degree range. This is only the start of my second year, so I have to give it a vote for vigorous (and looking like it could be an issue if not sited appropriately). I have mine growing on a trellis against the house in teh front yard. I can mow everything except right against the house (if needed to control). However, I was so impressed last year with the performance, I might be more likely to dig/rescue some and move to other areas. I had less trouble in Oklahoma with P. caerulea, but I haven't planted one in Arkansas yet...though I should have one in ten days or so (on order). I still consider it a desirable, but think caution in planting where easy control is a good idea.
