HELP! Think I picked wrong pool tile and ledger combo
Comments (22)Hi Krista! Wow, it’s been so long since I shared this, I had forgotten about it. i decided against the concrete coping and went with stone. I selected the Pennsylvania stone and so happy i did! It looks gorgeous and blends in so well with my color scheme with its gray/blue color. I took the picture I posted above and enlarged it below so you can see the stone better. I hope this helps…would love to know your thoughts. Remember that concrete has a greater chance of cracking in time and I think the stone looks more elegant as well as being stronger....See MoreNeed help picking backsplash tile
Comments (29)I can't wait to see the image. Your kitchen is already so pretty. Fireclay Tile has its Foundations line of tiles priced at $15/SF. At that price you can get subway tiles that are 3" X 6" or 2" X 6", 4" or 6" squares and the 3" hexagon tiles, which is pretty incredible considering it's all handmade tile. I think hexagons would be lovely in your space, but it is over budget, and I get it if that rules it out. If the price is close enough, take a look at the glazes below. They're spectacular irl. All of the Foundations glazes are neutrals, and the ones I like best for your stone include Gardenia, French Linen, and Shetland Wool. You can order five color samples for free, and each additional is $2, so you could order samples of all eight glazes in this line if you like the colors. These tiles are beyond beautiful in real life, and along with their handmade "feel" come with the kind of subtle color variation that brings a wall to life....See MoreHelp me pick tile for my kitchen!
Comments (16)congratulations on not sending useful cabinets to the landfill. your floorplan, from what I can see, gives you a very functional kitchen. I'm actually a big fan of galleys. love your countertop selection. very similar to what my friend is looking at. she also wants white subway. I cautioned her to make sure the white of the tile and the white of the counter are in the same range. bring samples home. grout can change the appearance of the tile, too. if you are not comfortable making those choices alone, can you hire a local professional for a few hours to check your ideas? or do you have a color maven friend? those last few decisions on backsplash and grout will make your project. and, you've done so well so far. one thing I'd point out. your outlets are all based on a three inch backsplash. do you know if the wiring comes from above or below? if from below, you could modernize by turning the outlets horizontal, and lowering them. even if they are from above, and no extra wire, I'd turn them horizontal. doesn't look like you have room to raise them, and hide under the cabinets. I don't see much of an apron to hide outlets or under cabinet lighting. best of luck. I am sure you will enjoy your updates....See MorePlease help pick grout color for pool waterline tile
Comments (6)This can't be evaluated properly at a distance because there's no guaranty that anyone's monitor is going to reproduce true colors. You can only get estimates. I would go with grout that most closely matches the tile that's being grouted. With different tiles colors you have to pick your poison....See MoreBriana Walker
