Do I Need BackSplash? Help with Suggestions!
Comments (27)Posted by budgeteer_s (My Page) on Wed, Dec 31, 08 at 18:18 Thanks for all your suggestions. I wanted so much to follow with ci_lantro's suggestion because then I'm done. I'll gladly let you snatch that paint brush out of my hand. ha ha. But at the same time if a little tiling will tie up the project, then I'm game. jodi_socal: I'm a little disappointed when you said fire and ice won't work. I just LOVE that F&I BS. But then agin, I think I know all along it's a little too much for my kitchen. Caryscott & petra: Thanks for the picture petra, it says a thousand words. Is spectralight glass tiles? Prices are pretty reasonable. What about that milk green color? will it work? maybe with some garnet pieces sparingly mixed in. I will take some pictures and post two HD Behr's paint card to aid in the discussion of color. Thanks again ALL! Correction: My tiles were Alfagres: Gema4x4: different from what caryscott posted: I loved what caryscott linked:...See MoreHelp me pick backsplash tile for MCM home
Comments (24)My previous home has miles of pine v-match wainscot and eave walls, with wood floors in oak and pine. Floors and wainscot were finished in a clear poly, and we easily had every shade seen in your kitchen (from these photos) from the darker ruddy brown to the paler cabinet colors. With the natural lighting and smaller, low ceiling rooms, we found that saturated colors worked best with all the wood tones. The green below is SW Sassy Green. All this to say I think a saturated mid-tone green or orange would look good in that space. A few years ago, a kitchen reveal was posted on here of a kitchen that was done to reflect the MCM roots of the house, and they used a mosaic tile in bright shades small square tiles, and it looked perfect in the kitchen. I don't know wether it would work with that granite, though. Alas, I cannot find that kitchen again. Good luck! I hope it was not too hard to leave your fab previous kitchen!...See MoreNeed help picking backsplash tiles for kitchen
Comments (8)Hello, I think Sina is right, the top cabinets look yellow but the bottom look more white. I think it might be the light bulbs. These LEDs can take on a yellow hue if you don't find the right blue option. And a dark tile can sometimes transform a kitchen. Here is an image of dark BS. I think these black counters make the dark BS stand out. Your counters are lighter so I think maybe a lighter bs might be a little prettier. Check out the images below. They have a hint of gray that you might be able to add. Love this little touch of gray and the ceiling really pulls it all together. NOtice the dark gray bottom cabs really help to ground the space. If you use dark gray in the middle as your BS it is going to close in the space rather than open it up. I love like the tile below....See MoreNeed help picking out a kitchen backsplash
Comments (2)Well, you're mixing cool and warm tones right now. The grey cabinets and flooring aren't really meshing with the super warm beige countertops. Try finding a backsplash that has a mix of greys and beiges to try to marry the two....See Morejiffer21225
