Hi, I had my simple, white kitchen done in November or December of last year, except for the painting of the walls and the post (this will be painted in BM Simply White). I would be open to any suggestions on wall paint, and/or if you could take a look at the, esp. the latter ones where I've painted a splash of samples (L to R: Dunn Edwards Ash Gray, DE Drifting, BM Revere Pewter, BM Willow Creek). Seriously there are at least 100 threads asking this same exact question. I think I've seen 3 this week. If you do a search you'd find lots of suggestions.

The modern farmhouse trend of white shiplap feature walls sounds like a version of what you are asking for. Not recommending shiplap, as that was done to death, but it would give you a sense of the effect of different texture/same color. I think texture (or wallpaper) would work better than color, because the way you see color varies from wall to wall with the light. So the difference in paint colors would need to be different enough for it to look like more than that normal variation in how the same color looks on different walls of a room. I'm not sure if you can get enough contrast with whites. Maybe if your definition of white includes sufficiently off whites. Something like white grasscloth wallpaper could be a nice accent. Or a paintable textured wallpaper.

I don't really think shiplap would give you much bang for the buck in this space. If it were mine, I'd focus on revamping the artwork on the walls, replacing the mirrors with something that holds personal meaning, and maybe doing something more dramatic with artwork where you have the map. Something that reminds you of favorite travels or places, perhaps? Enlarged personal photos or big original canvas paintings?
