Help - Paint or Spray Bathroom Cabinets? And Which Paint to Use?
Comments (8)If you like BM, then use their Advanced paint - it's water based and levels beautifully. I used CabinetCoat as my primer and Advanced as my regular paint on my kitchen cabinets over five years ago and they still look great. I have literally scraped dried food off my cabinets (who knows old long it was there lol) and the paint has never chipped. I did sand and prime (prep work is important). If you're hiring a "pro" he should know what he's doing... No guarantees lol but he should be able to paint.. When I tackled my kitchen cabinets I hadn't painted since 6th grade... and everything turned out fine. I used quality paint, nice brushes and took my time....See MoreHelp with bathrooms. Comments (15)I agree with Cpartist"s layout and like moving the closet over as suggested by D M so that bedroom 3 has easier access to the bathroom. Do you have room to have the toilet face the tub and add a linen cabinet next to the toilet? How wide is the tub toilet area?...See Morewhich bathroom layout is better?
Comments (22)I like the first layout better, it’s essentially what we have and it works very well. Mark, you might save $12,000 in building costs....but, depending on the values and expectations in your area, it could be penny wise and pound foolish, costing you much more than that down the line in resale. In reality, because you will have to have a light switch for both the shower and the water closet, the wall space between the two will probably have to be a little beefier. Yes to the wider entrance door, just in case....it is true that everyone is just one wrong step away from needing it! My husband would not enjoy that much togetherness when brushing our teeth....he would prefer to eliminate that closet and have a longer vanity. The shower door can have a towel rack handle, and I prefer a hook....See MoreAre 3 small bathrooms or 2 large bathrooms better for resale value?
Comments (22)Dear Weedyacres: One bedroom is 13 x 25, the other is 12 x 18. The other bathroom which is not in the drawing serves two bedrooms and one of those bedrooms is really tiny. On the other side of it is the dining room, so no way to make that smaller. I guess the only possibility at this point would be to loose the tiniest bedroom and turn the current master bath into one with the spiral shower, but I don't like that idea at all because we mostly heat that part of the house with the fireplace and I wouldn't want to loose a bedroom in the main section. Plus I think that really might affect resale value. Probably best to leave as is. I am so thankful for everyone's input because I think it's helping me to see that the spiral shower is a no go. Actually, the house isn't the main feature for me. The main feature is the two acres and lots of woods and the sun room with wall to ceiling windows. And the room we will use for dancing which actually brings me to another problem. The house is on a slab and we want hardwood. Sounds like engineered is the only way to go. We keep this room about 50 degrees and we want something that won't hurt our feet like tile would do. Thanks again for your help. I really do appreciate it very much....See Morerockybird
