GORGEOUS hallway!! And large enough for two features -- both can be decorative and useful! A round table is the perfect suggestion -- place it slightly more out into the hallway. Add a gorgeous vase with seasonal flowers. Or an urn with seasonal greenery. Perhaps a round rug under the table? And on the wall area -- just the stairs -- a very thin chest -- perhaps painted? with a lamp and mirror! Always very handy to have a spot with a mirror by the door! And having a lamp in the area gives you additional lighting options and is so "warm and welcoming" at night ....

Great job on removing the previous wallpaper!! My last house was like that and that is a tedious job scraping it all off!! What colors do you have outside of this powder room? You might want to coordinate with the hallway outside of the room, and that may help steer you in the right direction as far as what color scheme to go with. To select wallpaper options, try going to a local store that has lots of wallpaper books. (I just did a successful wallpaper search for a room that I am doing at my local Sherwin Williams store. They had TONS of books to look through.) If you find a few paper patterns that you like, check the books out for a few days and bring them home. Prop the books up against the walls in your powder room to help you visualize what it would like with your lighting. Also another option is to either do a wainscoting on the lower half of the wall and do wallpaper on the upper half. If wainscoting is not your thing, you could do a simple chair rail - paint the lower half a white or other neutral color, and the upper half of the wall could have the wallpaper. This helps break up the monotony of a pattern and keeps the lines calm. I did that once in a powder room in my last house...the wallpaper pattern I chose was on the "busy" side, but it looked fabulous on the upper part of the wall with a solid coordinating color painted below it. My personal opinion is that LESS IS MORE in powder rooms because they tend to be small spaces. I like your ideas about a sconce or maybe a simple shelf. For TP storage, sometimes baskets are nice too! Keep us posted on your decision-making process!!

I agree, Lynn about living out of a suitcase. The cable for the tv is on the wall in the pic. Would I run it around the room to the tall window? I like the idea about the bed on the tv wall. I was thinking the same that the wall would keep the pillows from falling off. I need to be able to open the bed to sleep two people. So that would interfere with the long wall (short window). I need to get a small desk (love the corner desk Tibbrex posted). Not sure whether I could pull the bed open. I just had company for two weeks. They had to stay elsewhere because I didn't have the bed yet. Just bought it. My son left his winter clothes (we live in Florida) in the closet. All of that will have to go. It will give space for guests to use. The closet has drawers and room for a clothes and possibly my office supplies. I love the idea of a top down shade. That window faces West and gets blasted with Florida sun from 1pm till dark. The blinds on the window are wood blinds. Maybe I could get a small dresser or cabinet to put some clothes in but i think I'll run into trouble opening the bed. Closet, still full of sons 'stuff.' I could possibly add more shelves. Hi - can you say more about your false bottom window seat? Does that mean it's part of the wall construction? or would you be able to remove it to use the whole wall as seating? You know that you could build a banquette out of cabinets, right? They do it out of over the refrigerator wall cabinets - it adds storage and seating. One of your pcitures has the drawer version. Just a thought. I've included my favorite link of banquettes - even if you don't go with a banquette, it gives you some ideas of how a smaller eat-in space would look/work. As for color - I'm thinking white. Trim and all. Choose one of those BM whites that they are always using over at the kitchen forum. Then you can use whatever colors you want to accessorize and put some additional punch into the space. Check out the one called "corner oddity transformed" in the gallery for what I'm seeing in your space - they have a similar tile. The wainscott might be a nice addition too.
