Wow!! Thank you Beverly!! That’s awesome what you did with placing picture on the wall, placing the rug on the floor, and placing it in different areas. We are a bit stuck on the location of our couch and rug, as we use a wheel chair (has to be open), but based on your pictures, i think we could go up to a 10 x 14 rug size instead of the current 9 x 12 (currently pushed back to the wall). I just have to make sure there is enough room to “roll” on the floor (without the rug getting in the way). I love the colors you posted, as well as the inspirational/idea photos!! I definitely like and want one or more of the colors you posted. There is a rug currently on sale that is very similar to the one your posted (aqua and ivory). It’s a 10 x 14 for only $220 (says it’s normally $1200) with a matching runner for only $48. It’s a shag style, BUT....... I “think” I really prefer a wool rug.

I kind of like this color palette for your room, so I might look for a rug that is less boisterous and has a light base with bits of the darker color throughout. Maybe even a bit of the color of your floor for some zip. Really like Night Train and Shoreline. If you're willing to go bolder with the green, it would be great to see something brighter and more rich than the wall color. I was going to suggest this gorgeous rug until I found out it's over $4k! These next three photos are supposedly of the same rug, but any way you go with it, I like the colors and subtle pattern for your room. The blue-grays and yellow-greens seem to work.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I like the idea of some blue in the rug to pull from the photo above the fireplace, but I couldn't seem to find the right blue. A lot of the carpets had too bright of a blue. I'm limited to choices though because I'll only order from somewhere that has a store in my area where I can easily return the rug if I don't like it. I've decided to give this Safavieh carpet a try, I have it on order. I'm hoping the pattern and texture will provide enough interest. I'll work on the chair after that. I wonder if a chair with blue in it will still work if I get this carpet? I can tie the chair in by adding a few more toss cushions to the couch with blue in them and a couple of blue accessories throughout the rest of the space.

The first thing I would do is get thet TV off the FPit is hung way too high and it looks like a heatilator type FP so the ventting of it will ruin the TV. Try thinking of the FP as one focal point and the TV either wall monted on an articulating arm beside the TV or that TV on the wall beside the kitchen doorway and rearrange the furniture For us a to scale floor plan is always helpful showing all the measurements , windows doorways etc The to scale plan is a great addition to the pics it helps getting a feel for the space . For sure at least give us the measurements of the room
