Back to the bucke.........anyone know of a better way to mop?
Comments (23)ebear geezz... I haven't been on here in moons. I know you were up and down about the steam mop from way back. I was not happy with the new shark either, not because it left residue, I did not like the way you had to constantly push the handle for steam and I also found it very hard to push. As far as residue, itÂs not from steam.. steam is just water. Your residue is from the cleaners you were previously using on your floors , the steam activated it and it will take a while to remove it completely. What you may really like is the Hoover floor mate. It beats the mop and bucket for sure and your floors are scrubbed clean. I have one but I do not use the cleaners it comes with. I use my natural or organic cleaners instead. In between, I use a microfiber mop. Check it out, I think you will like it. ps..did you ever get the Charlies Soap? Superchick I am sooooo jealous!! I have wanted a ladybug for a long time, someday I will buy one for sure canÂt wait! Enjoy it!!! Ree...See MoreFiguring out a better way...
Comments (30)Tricia, I feel for you, having been there myself. That's why I also cook ''more than one'' and rely on my freezer heavily. It sounds like we've had some of the same issues, and do many of the same things; it's why I always want to work out a plan for any recipe I make, banking the results for future meals. After three leg surgeries (and one more to go), I am almost back to normal but the ingrained patterns are there to stay. I have to separate the energy for shopping, cooking and clean up, and when it works for me...opposed to feeding us when we're hungry. I'm so happy for you that you can scratch your legs again! Tami, I make Bierocks with a twice-risen potato bread dough. The last ones I made were the best EVER, so if you go to the beginning and look at my tips, they will be very good! I got 18 meal-sized, and 20 appetizer sized Bierocks from my last effort. Since they freeze so well, it's great to know we always have dinner, and with home-made bread! I bake mine first before freezing, and reheat them on a covered glass plate on the defrost cycle for 13-15 minutes. Since the defrost cycle is much more gentle heat, it keeps the texture of the bread from getting hard/chewy, and they literally taste freshly made....See MoreWhat is the best way to clean my new stainless appliances?
Comments (57)After reading the posts, I had already tried Sprayway, Stainless Steel Magic, Mr Clean Erasers(once), vinegar and water. But never Pledge. As I only had the orange Pledge I thought what the ****, I'll try it. I used the Micro Fiber towel ( Yes the ones from Costco for cars). It was wonderful and quick. My French Door frig, my dishwasher and range look great and all in five minutes. I call my husband Shrek as he never thinks about using the handles, but now I have a quick fix. Thanks to those that suggested it....See Moredo you think a lacanche range helps or hurts when trying to sell home?
Comments (20)Heather, I agree with the posters that 5 years is a long time, and your plans may change and you may stay there longer, so if an Lacanche is what you really want go for it. I do have to concede, however, anything other than a basic stainless steel oven will be a negative to some buyers. If you watch any of the house hunting programs, they will walk in and see a low end stainless stove - like a entry level GE, and say "wow, really high end appliances". Anything out of the ordinary, like bold colors on the walls, or appliances, or anything out of the ordinary will throw some people off and be a negative. That is why real estate agents want you to paint the walls in neutral colors. If you are pretty sure you are moving in 5 years, try to get one in a standard size, and take it with you when you leave, and put in the most basic stainless steel range you can find, would probably be a good option....See MoreJohn Evans
