One of the biggest challenges with organization is consistency. In this episode of Houzz TV, New York organizer Jeanie Engelbach shares her method for turning a jumble of T-shirts into crisp, tidy stacks ready for the dresser drawer. She also teaches her trick of creating cascading stacks so you can always see all your shirts and quickly find the one you need.

Engelbach uses a folding board at home and recommends them to her clients. They come in multiple sizes to accommodate everything from children’s clothes to bulky sweaters.
“If you are concerned about being organized and keeping all your T-shirts looking fantastic, get a folding board,” she says.

“If you are concerned about being organized and keeping all your T-shirts looking fantastic, get a folding board,” she says.
1. Start by unfolding the board. Then stretch the shirt, front-side down, over the board with the collar at the top.
If the shirt has long sleeves, simply fold them in so that they fit within the folding board’s edges.

2. Lift up one side of the folding board to fold in one side. Flip that side of the board back again to reveal your partially folded shirt. Repeat on the other side.

3. Bring up the bottom of the board to make the final fold.
That’s the whole process. You can now continue folding the rest of your T-shirts until you have a stack of neatly folded shirts.

Tip: If your shirt is longer than the board, fold up the end of it so that it is within the board’s edges, similar to the process for long-sleeve shirts.
How to Store T-Shirts in a Drawer
Engelbach uses a layered stacking method so that every T-shirt is easily viewable in the drawer. “If you don’t see it, you don’t wear it,” she says.

1. Put the first folded T-shirt in the bottom of the drawer.
2. Continue stacking T-shirts in the drawer, but stack each one back far enough that you can see part of the shirt below.

I love pliio! A little fabric piece - look it up. Not very expensive on clearance at BB&B, quick, easy, non wrinkled t-shirts. Easy to id, file, and, very important, grab without messing all the others. I can fit about 20 into my smallish drawer. I stack one row sideways, the other lengthwise
