Ornithogalums??? Oh vetivert, you are bad, but Ornithogalum is the first thing that comes to mind when I think of spring chores and getting to work outside, usually in late Feb. Now I realize my question could have and should have been phrased a lot better. How about this? If the Bulb Forum members would submit their (own) pics of plants and blooms grown from bulbs for a new forum picture, what should it be? . Should it be open to anything grown from bulbs? Should it maybe exclude such things that have more 'specific' forums of their own, such as Lily, Tropical, and House Plant? Should it be an individual bloom, or as you suggested, maybe a still life flower arrangement of numerous delectable blooms grown from bulbs? Please 'scuse me for just having tunnel vision and tunnel thoughts of just Daffodils. At any rate, the folks who are having their spring now, can hopefully be trying to get some great pics. Ok...so when does anyone think we could/should start taking picture submissions? Should we wait until late 2010 so glads could be included by those in the US who grow them? Should we wait a full year (or nearly) so the members down under have an opportunity to have another summer blooming season, like for glads? hmmm...what is fairest? I guess before proceeding, I should check with the 'Powers that be' to see for sure if they would be willing to get the pic changed and updated with a pretty pic of our choosing. I hope lots of folks will give their input and in time, post their pics for entry. In doing a search here on the forum, it seems that Tulips and Daffs are the 2 things most often posted about. I imagine though that tulips are most frequently asked about, due to them having problems, or emerging early, or for not blooming a second season when they are thought to be perennials like daffodils. Here is a spring 2009 pic of a bouquet of Daffodil Show rejects. Hopefully in 2010, I can put together a much better arrangement and pic. Sue...hoping/planning to start daff planting today...maybe

Thanks for your interest. Here's the "magnolia" floral fabric. It looks like magnolias in person, and less green. It's called "Diva Mist" and I think it's been discontinued, but I bought extra yardage. So I have an english roll arm chair in that fabric. It's kind of a big chair, and the print is "flamboyant", as my son said. To be honest, it is a bit much, but we've got it now, and once I throw some pillows with that fabric around, it'll pull things together. Hopefully. The two sofas are neutral and pale colored and luckily look really good with it. I'm trying to figure out what to do about the 2 chairs in the corner. Should they be the same as each other or different? Should I just stay with the taupe ones I already bought? This is what I'm asking myself. I'll always feel like I'm settling if i do keep them. If we're spending $$ on furniture now, I might as well get something I love. As far as the Studio line of RA goes, you make a good point. It is a lot cheaper, so I should wonder about the quality. It's sold only at their "retail locations", I was told. As far as I can tell, these are online only. The stores haven't even heard of them. Has anyone seen a chair similar to the Blanford chair by another manufacturer? As I said, I am a bit wary of making another online chair purchase. Personally, and maybe I'm crazy, but the comfort doesn't matter to me as much as the way it looks. There are plenty of other places people can sit. I like the look of the Blanford chair, and have seen very similar ones in English magazines. (I've also seen lots of weird chairs that I don't like, but I do like this a lot.) Unfortunately, I think I'm the kind of person who needs to see something in person before knowing if I'll like it....

Thank you, prepmom. They do get a bit dirty but it's not really noticeable unless you're looking closely. Only 1 end chair gets regular use by DH, so I switch them out once in awhile. If he's particularly grungy from working outside I throw a sheet or towel over the chair if I'm around to catch him before he sits down! I take them to the dry cleaners every 6 months or so, but have them wet clean them because drycleaning didn't seem to help with some stains. I think I'm going to start cleaning them myself, starting with an Oxy soak in the bathtub, and maybe just take them in for pressing if needed. I hate ironing! Here's another view that shows the side chairs better. They have lines similar to one of your choices. Those slips wash easily in my washer and dryer and still look new after several years. All the fabric is ivory linen.
