It depends on which type of paint grade he uses in a particular brand. I like to use BM Aura. I now live in CA and DE is a local company, so many of the painters are more used to it and it used to be more easily available than BM. Even in the 5 years we have been here, BM has expanded quite a bit. Old habits are hard to break! The exterior of our stucco house is painted in DE, as that is a proven elastomeric paint designed for stucco and the climate here. No issues with that paint at all. Your painter probably has an account with DE and gets better pricing. I am remodeling some bathrooms and told my painter exactly what I wanted, written down in detail (BM Aura Bath & Spa in matte). He purchased it and will hand those receipts to my GC and I'll be charged extra for the premium paint, which I am happy to pay extra for a product I have used before and been happy with.

Flo Mangan, oh you're good! Thank you so much! I went to SW and sifted through so many colors. I'll have to look and see if this made my cut. You are SoooOooooo right about light. Literally just walking from the color wall over to a table the colors were shifting like a shape shifter and I'd say, "Whaaat?!" and turn right back around, ha! This is for a vanity in the mountains and there isn't tons of light in the room. Will be interesting to light-test it! ci_lantro, I know! I LOVE those mirros and I've already 'reversed engineered' them in my minds. In fact, IN FACT, I went to HD yesterday to look for metal edges and found some great choices. Had black metal soot all over my hands and face, ha, and would need to find a way to moisture proof the metal. Wow Melissa R! those mockups are amazing! thank you! I went ahead and had contractor repaint to Hale Navy. It‘s still not a perfect match (more grey), but I like this combo/color better than the Old Navy. Those undertones in the old navy blue were just bothering me! I will put the wallpaper up and then decide if we should try for a better match or if it‘s good enough as is (I think it will be good enough :). This is definitely a lesson to get samples and paint swatches on the wall rather than pick from a paint chip. I’ll report back when the wallpaper is up. Thanks to everyone for weighing in!

I agree with Patricia. I don't get why everyone wants synthetic stone. Probably because everyone else wants it. The natural variation of granite looks much better to me than the synthetic look. And it typically costs less. Many granites require no maintenance. Everyone also wants white kitchens. In a few years all these white kitchens will be dated. I like dark cabinets with everything else white. Much better contrast. Dark cabinets never go out of style. White cabinets do,
