Panasonic Vacuum Floor Selector Will Not StayIn Position On Vinyl
Comments (0)Not sure if this is the correct forum. But here goes....I have a Panasonic upright vacuum model MC-V7395. Everything is fine on carpet, but when I vacuum my vinyl flooring I have a problem with the "Carpet/Bare Floor Selector" tripping. It is a lever that you switch with your foot. I put it on the "Bare Floor" setting and start vacuuming the vinyl. It works fine for just a little bit and then it clicks over by itself to the "Carpet" setting. This started happening several years ago when I had the repair guy put a new belt on. I always thought he put the wrong size belt on. So I finally got fed up and contacted Panasonic. They said the wrong belt would do it. So I just now purchased a new belt. Read the instructions, watched a YouTube video, and installed the new belt. Vacuum is fine on carpet, but same problem on the vinyl flooring. Anyone have any idea how to fix the problem? Vacuums fine, floor selector will not stay in selected position on vinyl flooring. Comments (1)I am looking for a website for Vinyl Lock Flooring. I want to see the below grade facts regarding it....I have looked at the video. it is impressive but does not answer many questions. I have seen a bunch in my years of experience of a flooring store. I need to find the website for the product so that can get a grasp on it and tell you what may or may not be the next best move for you in my opinion. Thanks...See MoreOver spanned joists? Comments (4)Shall we assume carpet used to be there? Sigh...then the thinnest possible subfloor was used to handle a relatively lightweight (and incredibly FLEXIBLE) material. The solution would have been to reinforce the subfloor = more plywood. That is assuming the subfloor was not rotten....of course that is a natural thing to check for before putting down materials...but not every installer is a genius. And yes, thin vinyl plank (4-6mm) telegraphs EVERYTHING...just like sheet vinyl. Which means vinyl REALLY needs plenty of subfloor preparation simply to get it to look good. Please talk to your installer to see if you paid for subfloor preparation. If you did, what did it include? Did the budget/quote include the need for extra sheathing?...See MoreSPC Vinyl Floor Problem - Cupping
Comments (1)Your GC isnt doing his job, and hired a hack for his flooring installer. The only way to ”fix” that is better front end due diligence and hiring. At this point, if he doesn’t redo the floors, you’ll have to take him to court. Which will cost you more than you will recuperate....See MorePerson A
