Help! Living room layout for open concept main floor
Comments (7)I move the TV and console in front of the window. I know that will block light but I don't see many other functional options. I would then remove the excess table and chair. For a place for drinks I would add a thin console table for behind the couch, similar to this... I would also remove the small little rug and get a large rug to fill the space. I would keep this space fairly bare as to not overwhelm. I'm also wondering what your light fixture looks like?? I would add something sculptural as well, since everything else will be very clean and minimal. Hope this helps!...See MoreTiny living room with openings; layout?
Comments (3)Unless you need to seat a lot of people and are willing to crowd a half dozen people onto a seat with leg room for two or three, smaller individual seating and/or a pair of 2-seat sofas that can be fairly easily moved to be rearranged for seating and/or for cleaning would be more practical. If you only have a crowd a few times a year, you might invest in some folding directors' chairs rather than overcrowding your room. In lieu of a coffee table, choosing a storage ottoman that could be used for extra seating with a top that flips so it can be used as a table can help. Narrower end tables and tall thin lamps can help both with taking up less actual space and visually making the room less crowded. The right bookcase/media center could do double duty as a tv stand. I found a used oak hutch with glass doors that works well for a tv stand. Good luck in your search....See MoreNeed Layout Help!! Front door opens into small living room.
Comments (14)I like your rearrangement. Now for suggestions.....The coffee table is too big. I would like to see a round ottoman there. I would put your little mirrors around the bookcase...three to each side. Get a end table with lamp for the end of your couch nearest the dining room. Maybe a tall plant on the other end of your couch. To soften the room, if you want to, I would get some sheer curtains for the windows Also I would pull your sectional out away from the windows...looks sort of shoved in. Pretty dogs....See MoreOpen plan living room layout and design
Comments (23)Very helpful thoughts. I should have mentioned that we just moved back after a renovation and really have no furniture yet. The glass table is temporary. That is not the final place for the cat tree. (The cats have more places to sit than we do right now.) We have no high style aspirations. I understand the logic of placing the table near the patio doors, a common thing to do, but we were hoping to keep that area relativily free of obstructions. Besides, we already placed the pendant and would rather not move it though I suppose it would work over a coffee table as well. There's no intention to place a tv for now but that makes creating a focal point more challenging. Maybe should plan for the possibility. I'm not sure I know what is meant by a"sofa table". I'll put some thought into moving the table (we can easily move it now and live with it for a while) but does anyone see a way to make it work in it's current location? A quick sketch with dimensions coming up. Thanks everybody....See Moresheila_5492
