Need island color - Photoshop help? please
Comments (12)Thanks Chicagoans for taking your time in painting the island for me and everyone else for your opinions!! I really like the idea of an neutral olivy green. I forgot to mention that I'm changing the wall color. It is "too green" for me. I'm leaning towards SW Favorite tan or Universal Khaki. I always use BM but can't find the right color. Love BM Providence olive but it's a little too dark. Another one that I like is BM Sag Harbor Grey but I think the SW Universal Khaki is a little warmer. I might take the SW color to BM store for a color match. Once I decide on the wall color then I might go a color darker on the paint card for the island. What do you think? Have anyone used these colors? Do you know of any other neutral green color? Here is a close up of the green crushed glass tile color I'm trying to use as a reference guide for the walls and island (sorry the picture is blurry). Jamal123, my countertops are "Ivory Fantasy" granite. It is a creme granite with caramel, taupe/greyish and black dots and swirls. I'm happy with them!! Here is a close up (the picture don't do it justice, looks a little too light here, it's actually a little warmer with nice sparkling mica) Cali wendy, I thought about the red too but not sure if it will go with the rust color in the accent tiles. The paris bistro sign is not staying. I just needed it for the clock. I'm looking for another clock to hang there....See MoreIsland color & stools~Help please....
Comments (7)Yup, those are the Crate & Barrel ones ... don't you love them?? I almost got them, but then I decided I already have so much "popping" in here that I'd go with something more subdued for the counter stools. I still love them though and if you get them I'll happily drool over them! =) My indecision about the color for the island held up my project for a longggg time. I kept vacillating between white, brown, and grey-blue. Although I ended up going with the dark brown stain, I realize now that any of those choices would have turned out lovely. I just don't think you can go wrong with any of the colors you mentioned. Sorry I can't be of more help LOL! Staining them might be a great idea ... I wish I knew how to do that. You could save a lot of money, and then if you get sick of them in a few years, you could change them out. Our tastes are so similar, I just know I'm going to adore your kitchen when it's done. So exciting!! Have a great weekend! Erika...See MoreHELP! And please show me your beadboard cream colored islands!!
Comments (11)athome, since we have the same granite (althugh your has more of what I call the 'rivers' & mine has more of the 'islands') AND I have beadboard, it's only appropriate that I bring out some more pics ;-) I used beadboard in my backsplash for 2 reasons: needed to save money, but also I have beadboard wainscoting on the 2 walls in the kitchen that remained original, so this was a way of marrying the two sides. What I did was pick up the colors in the granite with a glaze - in my case I was picking up the darker cream & using a copper glaze. Your kitchen is much sleeker than mine, but because the granite has such a lovely mix of colors, it might be an option to use a base color & pick up another w/ a wash. The colors in these pics do not reflect the coppery bits in my granite very well, but you get the idea......See MoreNearing the finish line - island help, please
Comments (6)Thank you. I have moved the table around as it is close to the size of the island. Both ways would work, I just can't decide what would look better, and whether it would be with a smaller island and bistro set or just the island either a spot fir a stool it two. But I never thought about a chair instead........See MoreLorna
