Which seating arrangement for office? Pics, long
Comments (10)Thanks for all the great imput, gals. I'm going to test drive the room tomorrow using my older recliner from the living room. It's bigger than the new one I'm considering, but by setting it up with the oak washstand I'll have a better idea of the space I have to work with. I often sleep in Wes' recliner, especially when the ole bronchitis is acting up. I think it will suit my reading/relaxing/listening-to-audio-books/napping purposes. I just hope there will be room for two chairs. For some reason I want "seating for two" in this room. Of course, there will be an office chair pulled up to the computer where I tend to spend a wee bit of time! LOL Here's the wash stand I plan to use as an end table. The drawers can hold office/computer supplies. Since taking this photo (at the old base house) I've put vintage handles on it. The lamp and lace will have to go into the sewing room; they don't "fit" the office. Here's the new/old drawer pulls....See MoreHelp! How should I arrange the furniture in my office with big desks?
Comments (7)Thanks for quick the reply! I do not receive clients in the room, so I don't need any other chairs. I was contemplating a small chair with an ottoman for reading, but haven't decided yet. The window on the right in my pictures looks out to the backyard, the window on the left looks out to my neighbors. The office is on the second floor. Nothing will distract me, I enjoy glancing out at the windows and the birds. I'm going to add light filtering shades in case the glare gets too bad. I'd like to avoid being in a position where they need to be down all the time because of glare since I like looking out the window so much. The second desk will double as my drawing space and for my makeup. So, I will be reaching for it on a semi-regularly basis....See MoreHow to balance/arrange home office in living room, please!
Comments (10)There are a few things you could do here. First off, we think you could easily move your desk so it is facing the living room. Turn your desk a quarter turn to the left and then you would be facing the living room and be able to see out your windows some. It looks like there is plenty of room to do this. If you then wanted a rug, you could get one that would just fit under the area for the entire desk and chair. We agree with moving the TV to the empty wall beside the loveseat. This will free up that area so you can get a bigger book shelf if you'd like. We would then have the loveseat face the TV and move the chair at an angle beside the TV on the right. We think these suggestions might help. Notice desk faces out into room?...See MoreHome Office Furniture Arrangement
Comments (3)Here are few ideas for you. I like the first one because it has spots to lounge. With your current furniture, I'd put the desk and credenza that holds the printer side by side on the right wall. The book shelf can stay where it is. A nice warm white paint and ceiling color would be good. The only cost is the paint....See MoreLiz
