Transplant small live oak tree?
Comments (3)when i dig 1 to 1.5 inch trees .. i dig about a 3 foot hole... and bare root them.. in my z5 .... if yours is 2 to 3 inches... though the pic doesnt look like it ... i would dig a root ball .. of a minimum of 2 to 4 feet ... erring toward the larger ... by the time you do this.. you are going to have many complications from the roots of all the other trees ... not to mention a root ball of a couple hundred pounds ... plus it looks like you are not near a water source [perhaps an assumption] ... and aftercare would be minimal ... if you can NOT dig the proper root structure.. and you can NOT EASILY supply 2 to 5 years of aftercare ... why waste 6 to 8 hours of severe physical labor trying to dig it up ... you surely you can find a smaller one a little further out... to move to the spot you want ... the difference between what you CAN do .. and what you SHOULD do .... can be VERY BIG ... personally ... i wouldnt waste my time ... what ever you decide.. happy holidays.. and good luck ... ken...See MoreBest all round small flowered daylily
Comments (5)I just bought Black Fathom Depths from Mark Carpenter/The Lily Farm. Have never seen so many buds on the scapes! It is a beautiful lavender/purple eye. If this is what I can expect - all I can say is Wow! Healthy foliage too. I live near Mark, so was able to see the plants. It is a Salter lily. Really like it. I grow Cosmopolitan and like it a lot - blooms well, pretty, healthy foliage. I used to have Mini Pearl but lost it some years ago [my fault] but would buy it again. Comments (17)I want to further this post by asking one more question. I live in an apartment and have planted some shumard and live oaks in a 5 gallon pot. The problem is, I don't get direct sunlight in my apartment, but I keep the pot close to window for light. What I am planning to do is to hopefully either plant some at my brother's backyard, and maybe, somehow, if it's possible grow them inside my apartment for me. I don't know how fast they'll grow, and how big pot will I need over the next year. It's been two weeks since put this acorns and it's my first time experience. Ideally, I was planning to grow acorn from the seed for my future house, which is still 2 years away. The other important thing I read about is to not allow the plant roots to circle the pot. I wonder, how can I deal with the growing tap root in the pot, considering their growth is four times longer than their size above the ground. I know, these are a lots of questions, but if someone can answer them for me, that would be really helpful to me. Thank you so much....See MoreLooking for SMALL round end table
Comments (12)I just had this same dilemma a month ago except I wanted a square table that was 16" square or less. I googled telephone stands and came up with some smaller tables. I wound up ordering mine from furniturebutler.net. They had great service, lots of choices, round, oval and square. My table arrived all in one piece packaged very well with no damage. And it was less than $150. HOpe this helps you!...See Morewantonamara Z8 CenTex
