Transplant small live oak tree?

Hi,

I'm looking for some expert advice on the possibility of transplanting a small live oak tree (trunk is approx 2-3 inches diameter). I live in Live Oak (Santa Cruz) California, it's winter now and we're having a cold spell, but still doesn't fall below 35 F.

Here is a photo (sorry for the poor quality) and I have circled the small oak tree in front of the bigger oak tree.

The biggest problem I see is that it is located approx 2-3 feet from the other larger oaks. Will this pose a problem when trying to dig up the roots? Will I cause damage to the other larger oaks in the process?

I was just gonna cut this tree because it is too cramped with the other larger oaks, and no room to grow. But I wanted to first explore the possibility of transplanting first. I have a perfect destination to transplant...approx 50 feet away from origin.
