Hi Pietertje, I just ran out to try and get a quick picture of my younger Island Charm, to compare, before the rain rolls in. Brrrr..chilly wind and damp this morning. I also took the dandelion digger to see if I could find a tag buried near the mystery hosta. I always plant my own name tag with info on source, date purchased, # of eyes at one or two o'clock. If there is a nursery tag, that one usually goes at 11 o'clock. I have looked before, but apparently not far enough away from the crown. I just found it, totally buried. The tip should have been showing, but wasn't. Soooooo.....Dave's guess is spot on! Moonstruck it is! I am delighted, since I have two healthy Island Charms. Lots of people hate them, but they do well for me. Also, Moonstruck is one of my favorite movies, so that may have influenced my purchase decision. I think Island Charm has more oval-shaped leaves than the former mystery hosta. Both Moonstruck and I.C. have slightly ruffled leaves, at least early in the season, but this Moonstruck has a more pronounced twist to it also. Again, thanks for your persistence. Newhostalady, that was a good read. I am one of those Hosta newbies that can't throw away a Hosta no matter what it is. I still only have a few no named ones and some I grew from seed out in my lil garden. I'll just plant them in a corner of my yard that is bare and needs something. That corner is dark and dreary for the time being. I bookmarked it too Babka. Thanks.

Hi all, thank you so much for your feedback, and I am a she, not a he. :-) Hmm, I was thinking golden meadows also after looking at on-line images, but these hosta definitely do NOT turn all green as the summer progresses...could they be great expectations instead? I think they do need more sun; the one shown in my picture is the best looking one and gets the most dappled sunlight. The one at the end of the bed gets no sun and is just one sad little leaf sticking out of the ground. There are some nearby trees, but none of the dreaded life-sucking maples. My nearby Annabelle hydrangeas seem to do okay, but I did lose a couple of rhodendendron last year, so I just don't know! Thanks for the on-line resource, bkay! I'll definitely check that out. Ha ha, Ken, my son might be going to that green school in another year, either that or the maize and blue school...he can't decide, we still have to do the school tours. I've been to the umich gardens, but never to the state gardens...I'll have to check them out - thank you!

So how large are the leaves? Dimensions? Vein count? I see a light green middle with a darker edge. Does it change color over the Summer? Do you have any records of what you purchased 4 years ago, or where it came from? Just trying to narrow down the choices. -Babka
